Answer:	They should, they can survive zone 4 (up to -30) Castle in is Zone 5a which is a bit warmer according to the USDA zone chart. BUT - They are HORRIBLY thorny and spread tentacles rather than making a bush. I had some and hated them. For a Vermont I recommend a hardy Champlain rose they do well in Minnesota too. They are a 4x4 shrub rose and a nice shade of red. Also lots of antique rose varieties are hardier than the modern roses. They are quite easy to find. Miniature, shrub, old garden, floribunda and polyantha varieties of rose bushes fare better in cold temperatures than climbers, hybrid tea and tree roses. Hardy shrub rose bushes like “Country Dancer” and “John Cabot” can withstand harsh Rocky Mountain winters and temperatures as low as -30°F (USDA zone 4), and the “Nootka Rose” shrub rose is native to the area from Alaska to northern California and is able to survive at -40°F. Country of origin: USA Strophanthus gratus is commonly known by several names including Climbing Oleander, Rose Allamanda, Dart Vine, Twisted Cord Flower, Cream Fruit, and Baan Thon, and is a somewhat rare and difficult to locate plant as it is seldom grown commercially and is not suited for chain store garden center mass production.

It is native to Africa, and is a fast, aggressive growing, scrambling, vine like shrub with long, flexible rope like stems that can grow up to as much as 10 feet in a single season.

It is best grown on a large trellis or other sturdy support where size can be kept in check.

Dart Vine is showy and profuse spring bloomer. Five petaled, multi hued, soft pink and burgundy flowers contrast nicely with thick, dark olive green, leaves and twisted ropey stems. Flowers last for several weeks and have an intense fragrance that is reminiscent of roses and sandalwood.
