Answer:	This particular support strap is wide as you know 6.25" I purchased the one a little larger in length worked out good,..however I did have to loosen it often to keep good blood flow around the stomach area [umbilical hernia] the one design flaw was each time you fasten the belt it's not really a velcro pad attachment on the belt, it just fastens to the belt it's self so eventually that area will become frayed... hope this helps
