User questions & answers
Question: | are they true to size |
Answer: | Yes, I ordered a pair of Large gloves and they fit fine. These gloves DO work but I have found that my hands sweat while wearing them. I have not tried talcum powder on my hands or anything before I put them on. Perhaps I should try some powder. |
Question: | how do you wash them |
Answer: | Wash them by hand with a mild detergent and air dry...DO NOT use a clothes dryer!! Great gloves. They have really helped my hands and wrists. I use Voltaren Gel with them. |
Question: | How flexible are these for computer work / typing |
Answer: | I think they are stiff for me, and may not be flexible enough for fast typing. |
Question: | Has anyone tried both these and the Imak gloves? Concerned about 'all day' wear, and being able to type with these |
Answer: | I've tried both these Thermoskins and the Imak gloves. Re: all day wear the two things which would make that difficult are going to be comfort and anything in which you would need/want to get your hands wet such as food prep or washing your hands. They are incredibly stiff and very difficult to get on and off. Comfort is going to be based on personal variables. For me personally, I couldn't stand them; they were excruciatingly painful. Since the material is so thick (rugged however), the seam is also very thick. The seam is on the inside and digs into the wrist/skin. I know that I am hypersensitive due to ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia, so unfortunately I am not a good judge for someone whose pain in their hands is limited to their joints. I also had a difficult time typing with these gloves due to how stiff they are as well as how long they are.; I couldn't flex my fingertips. Of course, length is going to be relative dependant on each person's fingers/their proportions. However, unless each pair of gloves varies or the different sizes are not proportional, I'd be surprised if these weren't long on most everyone. I'm someone who even as a woman almost always has larger hands width wise and in length of fingers than men, but my fingers are long and slender, I guess what people would refer to as piano fingers. But these gloves were very uncomfortable, very constricting, very stiff, very difficult to bend my fingers and painful when I did due to the stiffness and tightness. Whereas the Imak gloves are so comfortable, for me, the perfect amount of compression, therefore great at relieving my finger, hand and wrist pain. I'm able to type in them, wear them all day and although they are a little difficult to take off as any compression item is, they are nowhere near the challenge of the Thermoskins to remove. The only other drawback of the Imak gloves was that the finger tips were a little too tight, but since they are much thinner I was able to stretch them out ever so slightly which was thankfully just enough so that I didn't feel the blood flow was being cut off from my fingertips. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have arthritis in my fingers, are these gloves good for that too |
Answer: | Sometimes, I have make sure the glove is pulled down enough |
Question: | Is the fabric thin? I want to be able to function completely while wearing them, and thick fabric is clumsy. Thanks in advance for your help |
Answer: | Right hand I believe |
Question: | how to order crrect size |
Answer: | I don't know. It would depend on the size you got and the size of your hands. They run small. For example, I normally wear a size large glove. In large, I found these quite snug, and preferred the XL size. |
Question: | are these gloves machine washable |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Does the glove restrict your fingers to make typing difficult |
Answer: | If on cusp of size it is usually best to select the larger size. |
Question: | is this a pair? right or left hand |
Answer: | yes, you can type with them on but not very fast. I found out if I sleep with them on at night, I don't have to use them as much in the day time. When you first try to sleep with them, they are not comfortable at all, but, I like using them at night, so my hands will be free in the day time. If you are constantly typing or your hands need to be flexible, try to get cloth or something thinner. |
Question: | How many mmHg pressure to these gloves exert |
Answer: | Everything is good, yeah it easy to remove the wrist brace. |
Question: | Is there a pair for the left hand since the ad here is for the right hand |
Answer: | I got these gloves for my Father and my Aunt and they both love them. My father is a mechanic and he did cut his gloves back about 2 inches to expose his fingers more. He said he took a lighter and burned the ends to keep them from unraveling. He said that he hadn't had much of a problem with the cutting. Its worth a shot. |
