11 best lysol laundry soaps
Product description
Our clothes are in constant contact with bacteria throughout our day-to-day activities, for example through contact with contaminated surfaces, other people and our own bodies. Bacteria can spread from one fabric to another in the laundry basket, from the washing-machine drum to the next load. Some these bacteria can survive a wash cycle and can cause potential infection risk with pathogenic bacteria. When it comes to certain laundry loads such as children's clothes or sportswear, you want your detergent to eliminate bacteria that can cause illnesses and create lingering bad smells. But detergents alone don't actually kill all bacteria. Introducing Lysol Laundry Sanitizer, an additive specially designed to kill 99.9% of bacteria left behind. Simply add Lysol Laundry Sanitizer to your rinse cycle. It does not contain any bleach and even works in cold water so is safe to use on most fabrics including whites, colors and darks.
- Kills 99.9% of bacteria & odors, simply add to your rinse cycle
- Contains 0% bleach, works even in cold water
- Gentle on most fabrics including whites & colors
- Works in all standard and HE machines
- Suitable for use on baby clothes, gym clothes, undergarments, towels, bedding, delicates
User questions & answers
Question: | Is there any evidence that this will kill yeast, such as candida |
Answer: | No that’s fungal and this stuff only kills 99.9% of bacteria like Staphylococcus Aureus & Klebsiella pneumoniae. So to the short answer is no. |
Question: | It sounds like some stop the rinse cycle for 15 min., and others don't. Can manufacturer clarify please |
Answer: | I'm not the manufacturer but if the product is in contact with what you're sanitizing for 10 minutes it's supposed to kill 99% of viruses and bacterias according to manufacturer. I just put it in the wash cyle which runs 15 minutes. I've worked housekeeping in a nursing home and that's what we do to clean also |
Question: | How can i use this product on a coin operated/he/lid locking top load machine with no fabric softener compartment. Any suggestions |
Answer: | Lysol Laundry Sanitizer would go into the bleach compartment in your coin-operated washing machine, not the fabric softener compartment. I hope this helps to answer your question. |
Question: | In the description it says to "leave it in the rinse cycle for 16 minutes." Is anyone doing this |
Answer: | Yes, but each machine is different. When I start my laundry, I make sure to select Deep Rinse in my GE (model GTW220ACK2WW) washer. If I am doing a regular large or super load, from the time I start the process, it takes about 24 minutes for my washer to go from the Wash cycle to Rinse. When it goes into Rinse, it unlocks the lid and I add this laundry sanitizer. BUT, then I set a timer on google for 12 minutes. When the timer beeps, I close the lid and the machine continues to rinse and it gets about 16 minutes. The reason I use the timer is because if I forget about it while the lid is opened, after 15-20 minutes (I cannot remember exactly how long but it's why I chose 12 minutes), the stupid machine will drain itself and I have to do a wash cycle again because I cannot do rinse alone. Anyway, hope this helps. |

Introducing Lysol Laundry Sanitizer
When it comes to certain laundry loads such as children's clothes or sportswear, you want your detergent to eliminate bacteria that can cause illnesses and create lingering bad smells. But detergents alone don't actually kill all bacteria. Introducing Lysol Laundry Sanitizer, a bleach-free additive specially designed to kill 99.9%* of bacteria left behind while remaining gentle on most fabrics.

When are Bacteria Encountered?
Our clothes are in constant contact with bacteria throughout our day-to-day activities, for example through contact with contaminated surfaces, people and our own bodies. Bacteria can also spread from one fabric to another in the laundry basket, from the washing-machine drum to the next load, and even from our hands when handling wet clothes which have just been washed.
How Do Bacteria Cause Odors?
Sweat itself does not have an odor, but when we sweat the bacteria living on our skin break down the sweat molecules causing unpleasant smells. We can mask these odors with fabric conditioners, but when the fragrancing technology of such products wears off, the bacteria can still remain and continue to produce bacterial malodors. To combat these lingering smells, odors must be eliminated at the source by killing the odor-causing bacteria.
Is Washing Alone Not Enough?
Some bacteria from food, the body or other sources can survive a wash cycle. As well as when you wash clothes like delicates at lower temperatures, bacteria & other germs can survive and transfer between garments in wash. Potential infection risk with pathogenic bacteria include athlete’s foot, fungal nail. You can continue washing at low temperatures and still be assured that 99.9%* of bacteria are eliminated by simply adding Lysol Laundry Sanitizer.
Step 1: Dosing
For standard machines: Fill 2 capfuls to line 1 of the dosing cup.
For HE machines: Fill 2 capfuls to line 2 of the dosing cup.
Step 2: Pour into Machine
Add two capfuls to the fabric softener compartment at the start of laundry cycle.
If machine does not have a fabric softener dispenser, wait until rinse cycle and add directly to drum of machine.
Step 3: Laundry is Sanitized in Rinse Cycle
Leave in rinse cycle for 16 minutes.
Clothes come out sanitized killing 99.9%* of bacteria.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this kill mold |
Answer: | I am not certain but I rather suspect that it would not kill mold. It contains no bleach (hypochlorite) that is a mold killer. |
Question: | what are the ingredients |
Answer: | If you go to product page on Amazon.com, you can scroll over the front image. Ingredients are listed on the lower left side under scent |
Question: | If you're supposed to put it in the fabric softener compartement, do toy mix it with fabric softener or just not use fabric softener |
Answer: | I was surprised to see NO instructions on the bottle. I just add a little to the regular detergent to sanitize in the wash cycle, not rinse cycle. There are other sanitizers that say to put in rinse cycle in order to leave something in the fabric to prevent germs/bacteria, etc. from contaminating fabric. I don't want anything left in my clothes/towels/sheets that might irritate skin...I just want to know that everything is sanitized. Use bleach on whites > it sanitizes, then gets rinsed out. Use this on dark colors > it sanitizes, then gets rinsed out. |
Question: | How much product do you use per load |
Answer: | Sandy, On my 41 fl. oz. bottle, the instructions are inside the rear label, between the two layers. Separating the layers is a PITA, but once you do, it'll tell you to use TWO capfuls to line one for top-loading washers or two capfuls to line two for front-loading washers. Note that the "lines" are the tops of the vertical bars inside the cap. Line one is indicated by three vertical bars that end near the rim. Line two is indicated by THREE vertical bars that end well below the rim. Two fills to line 1 (higher line) is about 2/3 cup (5.33 fl oz). Two fills to line 2 (lower line) is about 3.5 fl oz. It says to put it in the rinse cycle and that the rinse cycle should be at least 16 minutes. Be careful putting the second capful into your fabric softener dispenser, because the dispenser may not hold enough (you can try removing the dispenser tray and dumping out excess water before putting any products into it for the load, if you have that style of dispenser). Hope this helps you. Alan. |

User questions & answers
Question: | what makes this an anti bacterial product |
Answer: | I don't think it's considered to be anti-bacterial. It is a sanitizer. My understanding is that anti-bacterial products prevent the growth of bacteria, where as sanitizers destroy or reduce already existing bacteria. |
Question: | Is this the liquid form if not what is one that is liquid in this |

Question: | Can this be used for both whites and colors |
Answer: | Yes use on all fabrics.... |
Question: | Can I use this in an "HE" front load washing machine |
Answer: | I use it in my HE front-loader by putting it in the fabric softener dispenser, but with the water left in the dispenser from the last load, it won't hold quite as much as Lysol says to use. The instructions are inside the rear label, between the two layers, on my 41 fl. oz. bottle. Separating the layers is a PITA, but once you do, it'll tell you to use TWO capfuls to line one for top-loading washers or two capfuls to line two for front-loading washers. User questions & answers
Question: | How many bottles do you really get for this price |
Answer: | It removed red bird droppings that were on the roof too long. With a lot of "elbow grease" I would guess it will remove black moss. This product is awesome! |
Question: | Are you kidding me is this the price for one |
Answer: | You should wash the roof first, then apply per the instructions. Yes, you will rinse off for final process |
Question: | discription says 32 oz (pack of 12) does this mean 12 32 oz bottles or do you get 32 oz total |
Answer: | Enough to do the roof 2 - 3 times. You dilute it 50/50 with water. It is concentrated. |
Question: | Is it just one bottle |
Answer: | Dawn is a great degreaser. I use it to wash my trailer all the time. IF you keep the side wet while washing the roof and then hose the sides down really well after you shouldn't need to unless you are just washing the unit anyway. |

Question: | Does this product contain bleach |
Answer: | This is a cleaner (that does a good job, by the way) and not a protectant. Other products from Dicor are available that include UV protection (e.g.; Dicor Corporation RP-RG-1GL Rubber Roof Protectant). Just make sure it's appropriate for your roof's specific composition. |

Question: | is the liquid blue |
Answer: | I bought the 128ox btl and put some in a spray bottle. Sprayed on a wet roof of my 24ft trailer. Scrubbed with brush in 4 to 4 ft manageable squares. Cleaned well with plenty left for 2 to 3 more applications. |
