Answer:	I personally find that a little less than suggested, by the lines, is best. But because I do use less, I still add 1/2 a sheet of unscented fabric softener. Love the smell, but I have a coworker extremely sensitive to scents, and this helps. She wanted me to use a different detergent (I know, right?!?!), but I said no, and agreed to try cutting down. Answer:	I'm a grandmother and I've washed a lot of clothes that got dirty from food, paint, football, baseball, etc. I use Tide bc I've tried so many other brands and they either don't clean as well or someone in the family gets a rash or is sensitive to the other brands. Money was really tight when the kids were young and we had only one income. I tried less expensive brands but had to switch back to Tide. Most people use too much laundry soap and that can make people get a rash. I had to buy the expensive Tide Pods for awhile bc my kids and husband would use too much and the bottle of tide would be empty way too soon! So I think I actually saved money then with the pods. I take a sharpie and mark the cup bc too many people don't read the instructions. In fact this last month my son-in-few did a lot of laundry but he used up all of my Tide! Answer:	The others who answered may not understand that a self dispensing machine holds several weeks worth of liquid and automatically dispenses the amount needed, If that is the type of machine you are referring to, you need to contact the manufacturer of the machine or read their instructions carefully. Since most companies make concentrated detergent, I would think the washing machines can adjust the amounts, or I would hope so. This is the very reason I didn’t research those types of machines, I use my judgement in deciding how much to use sometimes. Hope it works out as it’s a great idea.
