How to choose viola sizes

Our violas are available in 7 different sizes: 16.5", 16" (also known as full size), 15.5", 15", 14", 13" and 12". 16.5" viola is the biggest and 12" viola is the smallest. Most adults use 16" violas.

To measure what size viola best suits you, you need to know the length between your neck and the middle of your left-hand palm (when your hand is fully extended and raised perpendicular to your body, just like holding a violin). Most of the teachers prefer students to use the length from the neck to the wrist for measurement instead of the neck to mid-palm approach. The viola size determined by the neck/wrist approach would be the size that is more comfortable for students to hold. The viola size determined by the neck/mid-palm approach would be the biggest size students should use.

The following table lists the length of each viola size. Find your length using your preferred approach and use that to determine the size of viola to get.

• 1 lb Beeswax

Instructions:

1. Place the beeswax into your container/can. Place the can inside a stock pot filled half-full with water. Simmer over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally as it melts.
2. Prepare your jars and wicks - get the wick to stay in the middle of the jar as you pour in the beeswax and it sets.
3. Pour the melted beeswax into the jar, leaving one inch of room at the top. Set the jars aside and allow them to cool and set completely.
4. Cut the wick and light.

Answer:	My package, unlike the product picture, says "Product of India." And if you've ever been to India, you'll recognize the smell.

Answer:	My guess is that we're smelling other rancid fats and waxes that the producer uses to "pad out" the product, assuming it contains any beeswax at all. I would characterize the smell as old, plant-based furniture polish without a trace of beeswax/honey smell. As for the other answers: first, real beeswax does indeed have a light honey smell--ask any apiarist or get access to the real stuff to compare; second, the smell is not from the bag and persists after sitting out for days.

Answer:	Never heard of using beeswax in deodorant. But I wouldn't use this for anything. While the wax may be non-toxic, the bag reeks of chemicals which then permeate the product. This is my fave homemade deodorant: 3 tsp Arrowroot Powder (or cornstarch) 3 tsp Baking Soda 2 drops: Lavender Essential Oil 2 drops: Rosemary Essential Oil 3 drops: Vanilla Essential Oil Blend (NOW brand) * Mix thoroughly in a bowl, then pot in 2oz jar. Use a cosmetics pad to pull powder up & pat onto underarms.

Answer:	It's from beekeepers that are located in Texas regardless of areas. Pesticides and herbicides are very unlikely on the flowers that bees have access to.

Answer:	Nothing is “in it” that shouldn’t be it states it’s raw beeswax there for it has not been cleaned or altered. So think of it as a vegetable that hasn’t been rinsed it could have any number of dangerous bacteria living on it or in it and I personally would not consider pure beeswax a food honey comb is a food but it contains honey

Answer:	We do not add anything to the beeswax, we just filter and pour it in the blocks you then purchase. It smells like honey because it is a byproduct of honey.The beeswax pellets are also 100% pure beeswax, however they do not smell like honey, possibly because this beeswax is not simply melted and filtered, but in addition to that step, the pellets are made using large auger extruder machines (think huge heated meat grinder that cuts off the wax as it comes out into a cooling water flow).

SHEA BUTTER LIP BALM

Melt 2 oz of Beeswax in a small pan until melted.

In a separate pan melt 1 oz Unrefined Shea Butter. When it turns liquid, add in 4 oz sweet Almond Oil, 1 oz Jojoba Oil and 1 oz Avocado oil and stir until blended.

Add in the melted beeswax and your choice of essential oils and stir all ingredients until fully blended.

Remove from heat and wait about 10 minutes to let the mixture cool off.

Pour the mixture into a lip balm container (tubes or small round or rectangular metal tins) and let it solidify for about 2 hours before using.

COCOA BUTTER LOTION BARS

Slowly melt 1 oz of Cocoa Butter and 1 oz of Beeswax in a double boiler. Be patient as both take time to melt completely.

Remove from the heat and add 1 oz of Almond (or Jojoba) oil and 1/2 tsp of your favorite essential oils (optional). Mix well.

Pour into small shaped silicon molds - it should give you 3 small bars - and let them cool off for 1 hour or until completely solid.

Glide on clean skin until you have the desired amount of moisture.

PEPPERMINT MASSAGE SALVE

Slowly melt 3 oz of Unrefined Shea Butter and 1 oz of Beeswax in a double boiler.

Remove from the heat and add 2 oz of Jojoba Oil and 1 tbsp of Peppermint Essential Oil, mixing well.

Pour into your nal containers quickly before it solidifies (beeswax will harden quickly).

Let it cool off and harden completely before use, about 3 hours.

Answer:	Hi, I'm not sure what you are removing from, nevertheless, we suggest this: How to remove beeswax / beeswax residue from a surface: 1. Use the low heat setting on a hair dryer to soften the beeswax 2. Wipe away the softened wax with a clean and dry microfiber cloth 3. Repeat until the wax is removed 4. Mix a few drops of dishwashing soap with warm water, 5. Dampen your microfiber cloth with the soapy water and gently clean the area where the wax sat to remove any leftover residue 6. Use a dry microfiber cloth to absorb the remaining liquid and buff any streaks. I hope that helps. Don

Question:	Should I use the the yellow or white beeswax for making moisturizer
Answer:	It really only changes the color of what you're making. I've used both colors for foods, candles, crafts, and skincare and can confidently say that is the only difference. If you're adding dyes (particularly light or bright colors), go for the white to make that DIY step easier. If you're okay with whatever natural color it ends up (or using darker brown/black dye), yellow will work great!

Answer:	I’m thinking not as you’d have to melt it to coat and in that form it would adhere to whatever you baked but I may not understand what you were askin.

Answer:	Its certified, but having “100% pure“ beeswax that smells like off-gassing plastic has me questioning what good the organic cert is now. This is not pure beeswax at the very least and for sure the company selling this is unethical/incompetent.

Answer:	I use it as one of my ingredients in making soaps and I use herbs/micas to dye the soap and it takes the color well, but the beeswax is mixed with other oils and I do not used in isolation.

Answer:	I used it in salves and lotion but know of no reason why it would not be fine for chapstick. I plan on making lip balms and will use it.

Answer:	You can't. I had to return mine because it was useless to me. I now exclusively use wax from Hansi Organics. No chemical smell - it's actually pure. This is misrepresented as a product. You can find Hansi Orfanics wax on Amazon or through their own website.

Question:	Is this product good for leather gloves
Answer:	I bought specifically to clean and moisturize my lv bags. I even use it on the canvas where it gives this beautiful gloss shine. It darkened the vachetta leather a slight smidge when i was applying it, but once it dries i felt the leather was back to its original color. The patina (darkening) of the vachetta leather happens naturally over time anyways. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Someone else answered that this product is fine to use on suede. That is incorrect. Question:	Will this darken your leather after applied
Answer:	Contrary to what everyone else is saying, yes, this did darken my leather boots, specifically Red Wing 875 moc toes. The change in color was not dramatic, but still noticeable, at least to me. I conditioned my boots about 2 weeks ago, and the original color has not come back.
