Answer:	I ordered the 1/4" thick pad. It is easily at least 3/8" thick. I think this is the perfect thickness under my 8'x10' rug. The pad came a little oversized. Which is good because not all rugs are exactly their advertised size. It trims easily enough with a good, heavy duty and sharp scissors.

Answer:	It is actually 8 x 10. I had to trim it to properly fit under my 8 x 10 rug, which was not difficult.

Answer:	I'm not sure if they advertised this pad as being safe for hardwood floor but I have had it down for 6 months and haven't noticed any discoloring. It definitely won't scratch the floors (unless there is a pebble, etc.) as it has a soft backing.

Answer:	The top is a high grade felt & the bottom is a non skid rubber that will not adhere to your hardwood floors. I have a grandson who likes to run and before I installed these our area rugs was always moving. Now it is in place. My hardwood floor installer who also runs a wholesale floor shop for pros turned me onto this product.mi highly recommend the product. We plan to add more area rugs and I will definitely order the Gorilla pads for them before we lay them down.

Answer:	No you do not. The pad does it for you! They are awesome! You stomp it on the stain and then leave the pad down for 30 Min. and the pad absorbs the stain. I used it on old stains and it worked!
