I tested a lithium Energizer AA out of a fresh pack and it registered 1.85 volts on a digital multi meter. I am surprised that you are having difficulty with the lithium. If you are not getting at least 1.5 volts then the battery is bad, no matter what its chemistry. |

They rated the "ultimate" A few points higher than the "advanced" and for the two tests that they use, one a flashlight test and the other a toy test, the "ultimate" received "excellent" on both tests, while the "advanced" Received "excellent" on the flashlight test and a "good" on the toy test. So I assume the lithium ultimate version lasted longer on the run down test for the toy, which is going to draw energy more inconsistently than a flashlight. If I find a product is burning through batteries faster than expected, I will usually try lithiums. More often than not, the improvement in run time is substantial |

Although they would probably work well in an AAA-powered motion detector, these batteries must be disposed of (preferebly, recycled) when depleted, and keeping your motion detector powered with these would be expensive. Primary (non-rechargeable) lithium batteries like these are best for infrequently-used devices, especially ones exposed to high or low temperatures, like an emergency flashlight that you keep in your car. You would probably be happier with rechargeable NiMH batteries for a constantly-used device like a motion detector. |

| Answer: | Actually they are rechargeable, but they are not meant to be. You shouldn't use a regular charger, and certainly do NOT use a lithium charger. You should know what you're doing and do some experiments first, then know they aren't going to last either. Normal rechargeable batts don't last anywhere near as long as advertised either, but these will last even less. I haven't experimented with these nearly as much I have with other batt types, but I figure it's worth it to me to get one good charge outta them, then I toss 'em. After a charge I use them like I would alkaline batts, meaning I only put them in things that don't matter, like cheap flashlights etc. I wouldn't rely on it to work after sitting for ten years. It may still work, just saying I'll stick to oem for important stuff and looong shelf life. I can say that so far none of these have leaked out to ruin anything, like alkaline do, recharged or not... If you ask "How do I charge them if not with a regular charger", then I hate to say it but if you have to ask you probably shouldn't try. And most, once they hear how, would be unwilling. If you/anyone is still interested; use low current and be wary of it. Like charge it somewhere it can't hurt anything if things goes south. The worst thing I've ever had happen in decades of messing around with batts is they vent alkaline, or acid depending on the type, and make a mess. So far I've had better luck with Energizer Lithium than any other non-rechargeable batts, but I usually only charge the AA since I use those most. Second most is button cells, specifically 2032 cells of whatever quality brand. Button cell charging started because all the ones I tried had too low of voltage for my car remote. The car would say "batt low" in one to a few days. So I charged them a little, I guess whatever was missing since they were made, and now they last months. The smaller the cell less the charge rate, so you need a multi-tester, resistors, pots/rheostats etc to get it right. For AA I'd est 100mA or less is a good starting point. AAA I guess 50mA. 2032 I rekon 5mA. be certain of polarity and never let the batt get warm. This all applies to alkaline too, if you want to bother with them but may be nice in an emergency, like shtf ;) |

It operates just like a vacuum cleaner with the brushes turned off. It also operates as a blower so leaves can be blown to an area where they may be vacuumed. |

| Answer: | Looking at it now the it doesn't appear you can by design. The led strip lights are thicker than the space under the front "arms" of the power source so sliding it wouldn't work. I don't find the power source to be a bother at all. I have a small head and have regularly worn headlamps for work over the years. This one is comfortable for me to wear a full day through doing demo. |

| Answer: | Absolutely not! The 50AH rating would be grossly insufficient for typical use in a bass boat even without considering the cranking amps needed to start large outboards. You'd really need a 100AH rated battery for the low-amp loads. This battery doesn't have a cranking amp rating because that would exceed it's design limits and intended use. There aren't currently many lithium options for cranking outboards along with the deep cycle loads we have on bass boats (typically livewells & electronics). I'm an engineer and bass boat owner, btw. |

| Answer: | Hello again! I wanted to clarify the differences in charging a sealed lead acid battery (SLA) vs the LiFePO4 battery, and why the BMS can't protect a LiFePO4 from SLA charging damage. First, let's touch on the charging characteristics as both batteries have unique charging processes that take full advantage of their chemistries thus maximizing lifespan and performance! - SLA: Typical lead acid batteries have a full charge voltage of 13.8 volts or 2.3V per cell (6 cells) SLA cells have the unique property of balancing themselves out. As such, lead acid chargers just need to provide a voltage higher than battery's voltage to bring the battery to its maximum state of charge (13.8V). - SLA chargers: Most lead acid smart chargers provide 3 stages of charging: bulk, absorption, and float-- each with their own respective function. (Keep the float stage in mind, I’ll get back to this in a bit) (Float charging keeps a lead acid battery at 100% state of charge as they have high self-discharge rates) Voltages are unique to each type of battery as their chemistries have differing energy densities. - LiFePO4: LiFePO4's voltage sits at 14.6V or 3.65V per cell (4 cells). An SLA charger will read 13.8V from this battery when discharged and think it is fully charged when in it is not, leading to disappointing capacity. Some chargers may even bypass the bulk and absorption stages and keep the battery float charging which basically means it won’t even charge since the charger thinks the battery is 100%! Keep in mind, some SLA smart chargers perform equalization of the battery's cells which will damage the LiFePO4's cells as well! - LiFePO4 chargers: Chargers for LiFePO4 perform 2 stages called "Constant Current/Constant Voltage" (CC/CV). A preset current charges the battery up to a preset voltage then the current lowers as soon as it hits that preset voltage up until it reaches a 100% state of charge (14.6V). The BMS can't protect a LiFePO4 battery from an SLA charger because keeping a LiFePO4 battery at 100% through float charging isn't necessarily harmful in the short-term, but in the long term it will speed up aging of the cells as their activity is constantly stimulated due to the extra power coming from the SLA charger. This extra stimulation leads to polarization (buildup of material where the electrodes make contact with the electrolyte) and electrolyte decay. It's absolutely necessary to use the correct charging algorithm (CC/CV ; 14.4V) as SLA smart chargers WILL NEVER fully charge a LiFePO4 battery or charge it ADEQUATELY enough to provide maximum lifespan and efficiency. Too much charging voltage for too long and you risk breaking down LiFePO4's internal electrolyte, too much charging current for too long and you shorten the lifespan of the cells. |
