12 best floor squeegee for epoxy
A floor squeegee for epoxy is a specialized cleaning tool used in the context of epoxy flooring. Epoxy floors are a popular choice for their durability and resistance to chemicals, making them common in commercial and industrial settings. Here's what you need to know about floor squeegees for epoxy:
Purpose: A floor squeegee for epoxy is designed to spread and distribute epoxy coatings evenly across the floor surface during the installation or re-coating process. It plays a crucial role in achieving a smooth and uniform epoxy finish.
Material: These squeegees are typically made of durable materials such as rubber, neoprene, or silicone, which are resistant to the chemicals and solvents commonly used in epoxy coatings. The material choice helps prevent damage to the squeegee during the epoxy application.
Size and Shape: Epoxy floor squeegees come in various sizes and shapes. The size of the squeegee often depends on the size of the epoxy flooring project. Larger squeegees are suitable for more extensive areas, while smaller ones are used for touch-up work or smaller spaces.
Handle: The squeegee usually has a long handle that allows the user to apply pressure and control the distribution of epoxy effectively. Some handles are detachable for easy storage.
Blade Edge: The blade edge of the squeegee is critical for achieving a smooth epoxy finish. It should be sharp and straight to ensure even distribution and minimize streaks or bubbles in the epoxy coating.
Cleaning and Maintenance: After using a floor squeegee for epoxy, it's essential to clean it thoroughly to remove any epoxy residue. This ensures the squeegee remains in good condition for future use.
Safety: When working with epoxy coatings, it's important to follow safety precautions, including wearing appropriate protective gear like gloves and goggles. Proper ventilation is also crucial when working with epoxy due to the fumes it can produce.
Application: To use a floor squeegee for epoxy, the epoxy coating is typically poured onto the floor and then spread evenly with the squeegee. Users should follow manufacturer instructions and best practices to achieve a high-quality epoxy finish.
Versatility: While primarily designed for epoxy floor coatings, some of these squeegees may also be used for applying other types of floor coatings or sealants.
In summary, a floor squeegee for epoxy is a specialized tool used in the application of epoxy floor coatings. It plays a vital role in achieving a smooth and even epoxy finish, and its construction from durable materials ensures it can withstand contact with epoxy chemicals and solvents. Proper usage of a floor squeegee for epoxy is essential for achieving the desired results in epoxy flooring projects.

User questions & answers
Question: | I received my floor squeegee but had another item show up in a similar box that I didn’t order. Please contact me so we can resolve this issue |
Answer: | I am not sure. I purchased it for our beach house. I don't think the shower floor is pitched correctly. I use it to push the water towards the drain. It works very well. |
Question: | what is minimum height this will go under? I have deck railing in need to push water under |
Answer: | I believe the blade is 100% silicon and that there is no metal of any kind around the blade, just plastic. It is a really nice squeegee. |
Question: | Is this squeegee all rubber or silicon? Is there any metal around the blade or sides of the silicon blade |
Answer: | This floor squeegee works great on shower floor and walls. The swivel blade allows for angling into awkward spaces. Handle is a little longer than I need but it is wood and can easily be cut to better size. The blade is rubber but unless you are using it on a very rough surface, should last a long time. |
Question: | Need a floor squeegee for larger, step-in shower floor. Will this work? Do the pads or blades have to be replaced over time? Thanks |
Answer: | You can use this product on concrete sealed with a solvent or epoxy based sealer. Do not use it on concrete covered with a water based sealer. Over time, this type of cleaner can breakdown a water based coating. |
Question: | Can you use this on sealed concrete |
Answer: | Yes. |
Question: | Would this work on red mud stains |
Answer: | Concrete Cleaner is designed to be used for cleaning grease, oil and heavy dirt from concrete floors. Use at 8 oz. per gallon and let dwell for about 3 minutes. Scrub with a nylon brush and rinse with water. This product is not meant to be used for water stains or rust. |
Question: | I need to get some water stains an rust off the floor does this work |
Answer: | You can if what you are cleaning is very old and stained |
Question: | Is this a concentrate that I can delude with water to get more gallons of spray |
Answer: | Yes, absolutely. Simply follow the directions for diluting our Floor Cleaner (1 oz of water to 1 gallon of cleaner) and you're good to go. Make sure that there are no other chemicals in the chamber before filling up though - Sheiner's products get jealous of other chemicals so they only mix with water - :) - Thanks for your question, if you have any other questions just let us know and we'll do our best to help you! - Sheiner's Customer Service Team |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this screw onto a extension pole |
Answer: | This is for use with threaded broom handle. |
Question: | What size mud pan did you use |
Answer: | I use a metal taping knife to spread some mud on the wall, then run the squeegee over it. The blade is really too flexible to work well in scooping from the pan and spreading, it's more of a finishing tool. Works great! |
Question: | Is this good for use with self leveling compound |
Answer: | Yes, that's what I used it for and it worked great. Poured the material out of the bucket. First used a simple metal leaf rake to move the material round a bit and then used the trowel to smooth out the leveling compound. |

Answer: | It should help. Haven't used on a rug but works good for concert and ice |
Question: | I'm looking for a product that I can use on large solar panels. Would this work well on glass |
Answer: | Brandon, I do not think this will work for your solar panels. This product is not a traditional squegee in that the blade is not a flat rubber edge. It is a broad rubber/foam edge designed to push water away from an area of the floor. Also, it will only work well on floors that have a smooth(er) texture, such as your garage floor, but will not work as effectively as on a concrete sidewalk. |
Question: | which handle is recommended for this squeegee? please add a link to the one that works best. thanks |
Answer: | This squeegee fastens with a clamp, so a handle with a tapered tip would be best, such as the Rubbermaid FG636200...http://www.amazon.com/Rubbermaid-Commercial-FG636200-Tapered-Natural/dp/B005KDD0XQ/ |

Question: | How many MIL thickness would this do for spreading an epoxy garage floor |
Answer: | Don't know the mil thickness. It is a notched squeegee that I used to spread out the epoxy material on floor before back rolling with 3/8 nap paint roller. Worked good in that regard to achieve more uniform thickness. My project was not a Lava Flow effect project. |
