I bought one of these brushes in July 2017 and have used it in my opinion quit a lot or in other words extensively. I have used it to comb out or brush out knots in my Havanese and just general use of brushing. I have washed the brush several times, and not even one pin has come out. I even use a metal comb to get hair out of the brush side with the metal pins. Still no pin has come out or been lost. In my humble opinion, this is a sturdy, well built brush that can stand quite a lot of use. That is not to say it is indestructible and that perhaps at some point in the future it could possibly loos a pin. But as is, this one is going strong. I can recommend it.
