Answer:	EVERY heating pad should say that in the instructions. Of course, many people do it any way but it raises the risk of you getting burned. You're trapping the heat against yourself as well as whatever surface the pad is on- bed, chair, etc. I have used a heating pad on my back for many years now, usually leaning against it and have been fine. However, I know other people who have been burned by theirs- my mother, who was receiving chemo, got a large burn on her back. Be smart about it- check the area often and allow it to cool off completely periodically if you need to lay/sit on it.
Question:	What temperatures do the three seatings heat the pad up to
Answer:	It looks like most of the other answers from 2017 and earlier showed their pads got hot, around 140 degrees, and all the answers from 2020 say the pad barely got warm. I just tried it out today and was disappointed that it wasn't getting hot. So I used my infrared digital thermometer (doesn't everyone have one due to COVID-19?) to check the temp, and the highest temp setting was only 104. Plan to return. The only thing this pad has to do is provide heat, and it doesn't.

Answer:	This Heating Pad is washable! Care and Maintenance Instructions: 1. Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet. 2. Answer:	I previously reported that there are no heating coils in the neck area. At the time I bought my first one, there were none, but something happened to my heat setting button, I returned it. They replaced it with one that does have heating coils in the neck and flaps. So now my answer is a resounding yes!!!

Answer:	No, it's not chargeable. It must be plugged into an outlet or power strip to work, but it does have a pretty long cord.

Answer:	It should, but it may depend on how broad your shoulders are. If your shoulders are broad, the part of the pad that covers your shoulders may make it so that the ends of the pad don't extend all the way to your shoulder joint. Don't know how much of a problem that would be for you. I'm a large woman, and it works well for me. It comes with a long strap to secure the pad at the waist. I don't use the strap because I use it on my office chair, and it stays in place. The strap should be plenty long enough for a large guy.
Question:	Does the neck part have heat to it? Also, does the top and front part of the shoulders have heat
Answer:	I've found that yes, the neck and shoulders have heat, but not as much as the back. I'm always using it at the highest setting, so that may be what accounts for my experience being different from someone else's.

If you have it in the "on" position, and then hit the heat button to the level you want (2 lights is plenty for me), then hit the timing, it will automatically turn off. Answer:	I don't know! Sometimes I leave mine on all night and other nights turn it on or off during the night. I absolutely love it though. So glad I got it. I ended up getting two. Do you want it on more than 10 hours?

Hmm, notice a pin was lower than the others. PUSH BACK IN FIRM and tried again. Perfect.

Question:	how many watts
Answer:	The label says 50W, and I measured 47-49W which is just right for label 50W. In actual use, it can use anywhere between 0 and the maximum 50W. It depends on the temperature setting (low/med/high) and how the pad is insulated. For example, I placed the pad between my back and leather chair, and set control to medium. After 3 hours, the pad consumed 0.035 kWh, which means average power is 12 Watts.
Question:	I would like to use this to make yogurt. Does anyone know what temperature it reaches
Answer:	My "high" temp is 120. The medium and low on my pad were too low... in the 80s and 90s. I put the yogurt jars inside a thick bottom pot with a wire rack and lid. Placed it on the heating pad. Wrapped a towel around the pot and temp stayed at 105 inside the jars. Worked perfect!
Question:	It is imperative that it is guaranteed NOT to have auto shut off for wildlife rehab
Answer:	I don't know if it is guaranteed but I have had mine for several months and my unit does not automatically shut off. As long as the switch is on, it is heating.
Question:	It is very important that this heating pad does NOT have auto shut off, can you gauruntee that it does not
Answer:	If you can use a seedling heat mat that may be what will be best for you. However do not use a seedling heat mat in bed as a personal use heat pad, after my old personal heat pad stopped working I desperately decided to use the heat mat that I use for my plants during winter and almost caught my bed on fire while asleep.

Answer:	No, you should not use a heated mattress pad or warming layer with an adjustable bed. I have a Sleep Number bed that is adjustable. I purchased a Sleep Number bed "warming layer", thats what they call it, for a Christmas present for us. When we went to make the bed, my husband noticed on the packaging, "Do Not Use With An Adjustable Foundation Bed". So, I called the Sleep Number customer service number and was told to return it for a full refund because it becomes a fire hazard with the constant rising and lowering of the bed. It bends the wires/coils over time and makes it dangerous to use. They said they are working on the technology to create one that can be used with an adjustable bed. They also said if we nevered used the adjustable feature it would be safe to use, however, my husband and I set up the head of the bed to watch tv every night. I hope this helps!

Question:	Does is get very hot? I have a few other brands that are not hot enough at the highest setting
Answer:	Yes!!! What do you want to do? Scald yourself? It gets plenty warm on 6, and perfect for animal heating with covers on 3-4. Forget the meat thermometer answer! It will get hot enough to burn you if you’re not alert and you choose to set it manually and not auto-shut-off. It happened to me, though it just hurt for a couple days without a wound. So, that’s enough! I use it to warm myself up in the evening and keep the heat at 65 degrees throughout winter to save money. Why heat the entire house? This doesn’t cost as much as electric or gas heat in the long run. And the company is AWESOME!!!! Totally customer service oriented... responsive. You can’t go wrong with this product!

Answer:	Spray or sprinkle the heating pad lightly with water. The heat will then be moist heat. You will ❤️ this pad!
Question:	What does the blinking F mean on the control panel
Answer:	This is a quote from their customer service group "When a connection error occurs, the F light will blink. Unplug, then completely reconnect the connectors. The control connector must be connected to the pad connector before plugging the unit into an electrical outlet. Try unplugging and re-plugging both ends and see if it would work. If this doesn't resolve the issue, please give us a call and we can process your replacement over the phone. We have a hassle-free warranty on this heating pad and we're happy to help! Question:	Does this heating pad have auto shut off
Answer:	The one I bought in August 2019 has the option of auto shut-off or manual override... and will stay on indefinitely. I just hope it still has this function as it’s needed to keep my elderly cat warm throughout the night. I set it at either 3-4 depending on the blankets I use over it. 6 is too hot for her, even though cats and dogs have normal temps at approximately 4 degrees higher than humans... that’s why they feel so great in our laps! This is a MUST for heating pads for animal care use. Remember though, to always allow the animal a way to get away from the heat if needed - use on only half the cage (if caged) but allow burrowing ability on the non- heated side too. It’s a shame that other companies don’t offer this... as heating pads are used in many ways. A 2 hour shut off is great for preventing burns to elderly, non-aware or forgetful humans, but useless for any other need! When the pad failed, after Amazon return period, they provided a new set, shipped quickly and didn’t require a return. The pad is used at least 5 days a week for hours and has functioned perfectly ever since replacement- over a year ago. Great, responsive company... no hassle.

Answer:	No, the K&H Original Lectro-Kennel Outdoor Heated Pad is an electrical product that needs to be plugged into a normal 110v outlet.
Question:	Can the heating pad be placed under a dog house? It is a plastic dog house. Very sturdy but not heavy that sits on concrete outside
Answer:	No, it should not be covered with anything other than the K&H cover. Even a blanket is not recommended. I do not think the heat will go through a dog house. However, if you mean inside the dog house that is perfectly acceptable. It should never be submerged in water so the inside of the dog house should be dry at all times.
Question:	Is it safe to use this with an outdoor extension cord
Answer:	All of our Lectro Kennel pads are plugged into outdoor, heavy duty, cold-weather rated, extension cords and have been for 2+ years. The connections need protection from the the weather. This size pad is only 40 watts, it doesn't concern me at all using a 50 foot extension cord.

Answer:	I used 3 of these for my outside dogs in the winter in their Dog Houses.I have a timer on them to come on after 6pm till 9am.I don't think they are pressure senitive.They love them.

How to test your Lectro-Kennel

You'll notice that the K&H Lectro-Kennel may not feel warm to the touch when your pet is not on the pad. That is normal!! You can test the pad by placing a large pillow on top of the pad. After about 20 minutes, feel under the pillow. It will feel warm, not hot. Do not use an extension cord and do not place anything on the pad (other than the fleece cover provided) during testing.

Question:	Can these be used to heat a water bed mattress
Answer:	If you’re only looking to keep it from freezing I imagine it’d work fine. Otherwise it turns off way before a comfortable temperature.
Question:	Is there a way to bypass the thermostat? I have these installed to a switch and it's 32 degrees out. I feel no heat and it's freezing out
Answer:	These have their own thermostat and are not be connected to the RV's interior thermostat. They are only connected to the RV batteries. Installed on the tanks under your RV, it shouldn't be possible to "feel" them. They heat the tanks to keep them from freezing. They provide no heat to the interior of the RV. They do not provide radiant heat (give off heat). They are similar to a heating pad used for a muscle ache. It won't heat the room, only the muscle area it is touching.
Question:	I am replacing existing tank heating pads. These pads have 2 wires (red & White) Will it be safe to hook up new pads w/ 3 wires w/o neutral
Answer:	According to the description these are 12 volt DC. 3 wires are 120 volts AC. If you don't know what your doing consult a professional.
