Answer: You would have to refill at that point anyway. If you refill early just pick the inner portion up and advance to start over at that “spot”
Question: does it have a lockout so pills cannot be taken ahead of time
Answer: Yes. There's a key to use underneath, and unless it's unlocked, you can't change the time and can't access any pill slots except for the one for that day. If they happen to miss a dose, it turns and you can see that they didn't take it. But you can access the battery compartment without the key.
