Answer:	It's made of coated, "rust resistant" steel, so I don't see any reason it couldn't go in the refrigerator. Moisture would be my only concern, but since it is rust resistant, I think it would work. (I'm only a customer, not a company rep.)

Answer:	No, the file holders are not removable. If you want to use the chest as a box-style container, these holder's would be pretty decent. The file holders do not take much space because the box is pretty big (and sturdy).

The fingerprint reader works but try to get it clean and right the first time cause if you take it off it will take time for the adhesive to take hold again and might give you trouble with the fingerprint reader. At least that's my experience. Overall it works well but wish the instructions were more clear.
