Answer:	I'd try the mediums for a male 5.5 shoe. The mediums are 2 inches wide, so the best way to determine is to measure some of your shoes.
Question:	what size should I order for men's 11.5 D shoe to get 1/2 inch lift
Answer:	I ordered them for my son's 13-D shoe, and the lift itself appeared to be a standard width and it was a half inch tall. So, I'd suggest measuring the inside width of your shoe heel and comparing it to the lift, which as the ad shows is 2.5 inches across at its widest. If it's a match or close to 2.5 inches then it's probably worth a try. It seems to be a quality product at a good price. Buy less that a pack of 10 if necessary. Good luck!

Answer:	They are about 2 1/4". They are soft and flexible so they should fit in any size shoe. I don't think they should be trimmed though. The problem I have is that they don't stay in place in most of my shoes. ( I wear an 8 1/2.) Maybe they will fit more snug in a smaller shoe.

Answer:	These cups are soft next to your heal. Overall very maleable product. The bottom has raised form pieces to provide shock absorbing. I found that my extreme heal pain was relieved immediately, and completely went away within a week. I highly recommend them, a very economical solution to a painful problem. I have tried many different Scholl foot forms, and inserts and gel cushions, none of them worked but these.
