White 3M electrical tape takes ink well and the rate at which it smudges is as slow as the white coated canvas tape, i.e. low cost ball-point pen remains legible for at least 5 years, which was longer than the adhesive on the coated cotton tape lasted, fine point felt tip lasts for more than 10, and the limit is not smudging. While the adhesive on the 3m electrical tape will last almost indefinitely, my experience has been that ink from Sharpies faded after 12 to 15 years. |

Eventually it will dry out the skin but it makes removal less painful. |

I don't use on the eye area specifically, but I do have to keep a surgical area on my husband covered with gauze and I have found that this tape has been gentle enough for his skin to tolerate multiple dressing changes per day for over a year - absolutely no tearing or irritation on the skin and I can even remove and reapply the tape several times to reposition it without it damaging his skin! |

| Answer: | Hi, first off, I'm not sure, not being an owner of said equipment. But, I would imagine that strong tape would be called for. My worry is that this tape has perforations every few inches to allow you to tear it by hand. These weaken the tape a lot at those lengths. I believe you can also find the Medipore tape that is not perforated. I know this because I mistakenly ordered some 2 inch wide non-perforated Medipore tape a while back. You could also look at either paper medical tape (be warned it is not as sticky) or plastic medical tape (be warned it is so sticky it can damage the skin on removal) for your use. Also, Amazon sells something called Boob tape that seems like it might meet your needs. Good Luck Mike |
