It is very fine, and does not clump, never irritates. you should note the powder also is medicated with miconazole, an antifungal medication. I use it almost daily and it keeps me dry, comfortable and rash-free, even during extreme heat and humidity.

My husband has noticed (I got the stone for him) that, after each usage, there is noticeable grit residue in his foot soaking basin; so the stone does erode some after each use. He's used it twice so far and really likes the difference it makes on his very calloused toes and heels, and the stone itself still looks to have many more uses left in it. Even if it only lasted, say, 13 or so uses (and I think he'll get way more uses from it than that), at $13.00/stone that works out to a dollar a session - pretty cheap, really for something that has made a difference in some pretty tough feet.

If you really want to find out, put a little in the sink and put a match to it. MUST SAY: Works great on general yeast infections of the skin. It's expensive, but I use it because they use it in the hospital--and it WORKS QUICKLY. Stop smoking for an afternoon!
