Question:	Can i use with a window based computer or does it have to be a MAC
Answer:	We just got out of a Cricut class tonight, 10/14/2019) at a local Michaels. We (my wife and I) both downloaded the DesignSpace software in class from the Cricut website to our Windows 10 laptops and after downloading a small Windows add-in, were able to launch DesignSpace, create and cut projects successfully from out laptops. We also had out Apple iPads and downloaded the Apple Store DesignSpace app and had no problem using them to design and cut. Can’t speak about the Mac though...
Question:	I am looking to get my first Cricut machine. Will the faster speed matter or should I save some money and get the previous version to learn on
Answer:	The only difference between the air1 and air2 is the speed of the cut and the color options for the machines. I have the air2 and I honestly haven't even tried the faster cutting option because I've been cutting really delicate things and I was afraid that it would rip the material at a faster speed. I guess this question depends on how much you would use it and for what. I don't, by any means, think the air1 is "slow".
Question:	I want a machine to cut out my own designs from photoshop/illustrator, I'm not interested in any of the library images etc. Can this do this, well
Answer:	Through personal experience, the Cricut Design Space software let’s you upload svg files, but not ai or eps. The best advice for cutting images from Illustrator is to use a USCutter instead, it uses a software called Sure Cuts A Lot and works with alot of file types (ai, eps, svg)

Question:	Will this cut vinyl decals
Answer:	I would recommend against it. The laser uses concentrated light and as such generates a lot of heat. The vinyl material may (probably) release toxic gasses and the heat will likely distort the material. For cutting decals I recommend something like a Cricut.
Question:	I am wanting to engrave in leather and cow hide. Which watts would you suggest? Also would be doing wood but main focus is leather and hide
Answer:	I own the 20 watt model and would recommend it. The 15 watt would get the job done but suggest getting the 20 watt.
Question:	Is wifi required on this unit all the time
Answer:	No. The machine only needs to be connected to a computer for operation. No need to connect to the Internet. You can operate the machine offline.
Question:	What do have to set the unit on or can I just set it on a table without anything under it
Answer:	I would suggest that you place a 24" x 24" non flamable piece under the unit. For example, i placed mine on a table, but placed a 2 SF piece of tile under it in the event the laser burnt through whatever i was cutting. This was just a precautiinary measure. I picked one up at a local tile liquidation store for $2.00.

Answer:	It is a "shim" that's necessary for cutting wafer thins but it comes with the Vagabond when you buy it. Good youtubes to watch are put out by Scrapbooking made Simple. Love my vagabond 2!
Question:	Does anyone know what the e (sdx125e ) means? i have googled with no luck what it stands for
Answer:	I have had no trouble with many brands of thin, intricate dies. All of the brands may have issues with cutting completely, but it's the dies that are the issue, not the Vagabond. Go to YouTube to get suggestions for solving this issue...placing dies closer go the edges, using additional paper or scotch tape shims, etc. I bought the Vagabond 2 because my original Vagabond, nearly 10 years old, gave up the ghost after thousands of cuts. I love my Vagabond and would recommend it highly.
Question:	Is it compatible with OS (iMac
Answer:	Yes...it is quieter and less likely to jam. My old Vagabond got knocked on the floor by my cat and just quit working. The improvements are significant. but I wouldn't replace a working Vagabond with this one...As long as your machine works, use it.

Answer:	Mine came with the platform, two clear cutting plates and the thin adapter for using the thin dies. I purchased the longer cutting plates separately.

Answer:	A nibbler can go in smaller circles and do more intricate work. A shear you will have a strip of sheet metal to deal with as you cut. I think the nibbler is better on thinner metal and shear on thicker. Hope this helps.

Question:	does the handle turn hard
Answer:	Between 3/8s and 1/4 inch. The grey plate is 3/8s inch. The white plate probably starts out at 3/8s but with use grows to 1/4 inch. Both are usable in a grand calibur machine.
Question:	Can steel dies mounted on wood or acrylic, and single dies be used in this machine? And, does it cut leather and faux leather
Answer:	It's meant to be used with the grand calibur however spellbinders cutting base plates are the best so I bought one and am using it in my cuttin boss machine with my precision plate. So if you can come up with a correct thickness sandwich for whatever die cutting machine you use, it could work. Take into account the size of the plate is meant for a machine that can accommodate larger paper - so if you have a big shot machine it wont work.
Question:	Does this work well with all embossing folders like Darice?I currently have a big shot foldaway and it is completely useless with embossing folders
Answer:	You will need to buy some sort of dirty cutting machine unless your hammering it out.. this machine doesnt fit the large dies only the 2" or less in width.

Answer:	I have used small spellbinders dies and smaller sue wilson dies, you will have to send it through the machine once or twice for a good cut.

Answer:	when I use it with my cameo 3 I can't get the markings for cutting to stay on the page. What are the adjustments needed for it to be used on the cameo

Answer:	I purchased this recently and used it on a staunless steel tumbler (those double wall insulated kind with the clear lid). I printed a 3"x4" image on the sheet (like a name label). It came out looking great out of my inkjet and it cut very nicely on my cricut. It was easy to place onto the tumbler. I handwahsed it very very very gently barely using any soap and using only my hands (no sponge or scrubber) and to my disapointment it already started wearing off on the edges. I don't know if it's the ink that is coming off the vinyl or if the vinyl just deteriorated. Either way it was a waste of time. My personal opinion is that this product should only be used on items that won't come in contact with water

Answer:	I just took a video and a shot but can’t seem to load it on for you. The 7/32 is just a smidgen less than 1/4 inch.

What Sizzix products can you use with the Big Shot?

The Big Shot machine and it accompanying die or folder, is made for use with the Sizzix product library including Bigz, Thinlits, Framelits, Textured Impressions, Texture Fades and Impresslits Embossing Folders, with the exception of dies and embossing folders wider than 6” (A5). Empowering creativity, the Big Shot has the ability to die-cut and emboss a multitude of materials, from card stock and vellum to leather and mat board.

Prepare

First, gather all the items you need to get started. This includes the chosen material you want to cut, selected dies, Big Shot machine of choice, tools such as the Paper Sculpting Kit and glue gun and any embellishments you may want along the way! With hundreds of designs to choose from in our extensive product library, you will find a die for every project and occasion, from basic shapes and animals, to alphabets and intricate designs.

Make Your Sandwich

Make the perfect Sizzix sandwich by placing your chosen die and your chosen material such as card stock between your cutting pads and place on top of your platform, following the instructions printed on the platform. If you are using a Bigz die then you will not need a platform, instead just simply create a Sizzix sandwich with your two cutting pads, die and chosen material, such as card stock, fabric and leather!

Lets Get Cutting

Time to get cutting! Simply feed your sandwich through your machine by turning the handle and be met with your beautifully cut design on the other side in a matter of seconds. To reveal your die-cut simply take your cutting pads and die away, leaving you with your desired design. If you use an intricate wafer-thin and chemically-etched die, you may wish to use the Sizzix Die Brush or Die Pick to effortlessly remove any excess paper.

Question:	How does it match up with the print outs on my paper to accurately cut out what is printed? Or is that not something it can do
Answer:	There are two ways that you can "print and cut". One is by using a special new mat called the PixScan that is available for it, and an app that goes with it on your phone. With that you can cut around anything...it doesn't have to be something you printed from the Silhouette software. It can be a stamped image, or handwriting, or whatever. The other way is by creating the file in Silhouette's Design Studio software and then adding registration marks to your document before printing it. The machine reads these to orient itself on the paper when you feed the paper into the Portrait to cut.
Question:	Can you use 8 1/2" paper even if it only cuts 8" or would you need to trim your paper to
Answer:	I have put 8 1/2 by 11 paper on the mat. You just cannot see all the numbers on the side but you do not have to cut it to 8 inches. Hope this helps. I absolutely love my Silhouette and I still do not even know how to use have of the items yet.
Question:	Will the software that comes with this print .ai files? Is there other software that will print out designs for this printer
Answer:	Not the software that comes with it. However you can buy Silhouette Connect software for $40 which allows you to cut directly in Adobe Illustrator. Would highly recommend using that program if you know Illustrator.
Question:	What will the Cameo do that the Portrait will not do
Answer:	I had purchased the Portrait, but found I was limited on what I could create since it's width is just 8 inches wide. Most of the paper or vinyl I wanted to use with the Portrait were at least 8 1/2 inches wide. So I bought the Cameo and I'm very happy with it. Other than the width limitation, they both operate the same way.
