Answer:	Hi Tia! We don't recommend this ginger for stir fry as the pieces are too thick to be reconstituted fully and able to be chewed properly. It's great in marinades where it can lend it's flavor but should be taken off the final product/meat/etc. It's also great in teas, with other herbs or by itself. A typical ratio to use for fresh ginger vs. dried ginger is 1 Tbsp. of fresh ginger = 1/4 tsp. dried ground ginger. Since our ginger is not ground, there would be extra space between the pieces when measuring (as opposed to ground ginger), so we recommend a ratio of 1 Tbsp. fresh ginger = *rounded* 1/4 tsp. of our dried ginger for marinades.

Answer:	It says product of Germany on the bottle, but don't know if that means it is grown there.I recommend it. I have made many Asian dishes with fresh ginger, and hardly noticed the ginger. This product really provides a strong ginger flavor, especially if you add a little more towards the end of cooking
Question:	Don't see nutritional information label- how much sugar does it have per serving
Answer:	I'd put them in a bit of hot water first to soften and then add the ginger with the water to the smoothie. If you're going to use a tablespoon or 2 of ginger put it in a very small bowl, add enough freshly boiled water to cover it, and let it sit for 3-4 minutes. If you're adding the ginger to something hot you can skip this step, but with a cold smoothie it probably won't absorb the cold liquid and you'll have tough little chunks. Don't throw out the water though or you'll lose a lot of the flavor.

Answer:	Yes, they are peeled. I love them. I had the cold/flu hit me last week and I put a bunch of these along with some cloves in tea. After drinking the tea, I chewed on these dices of ginger and cloves. It was the best thing I could do for my soar throat and cough.

Teas are allowed a certain (small) percentage of "non-tea" organic material, so some dried ginger products may have small amounts of sand, rocks, shells, etc. However, ours does not contain sand. Answer:	Hello Michael,The label on the package I have says that there is 23 grams of "sugars" per 28 gram serving. I'm assuming that the 23 grams is composed of both added sugars and sugars present in the ginger itself. It's a high percentage, but I only use the ginger in limited quantities and times in baking ---with occasional direct eating of the ginger. Hope this answers your question. Cheers, David

Answer:	I hope there's none! Ginger is from Thailand, but packaging is in the US. Can we trust that the FDA inspects for lead? I doubt the ginger is organic. Could that be the source of lead? Please keep all of us in formed! I've been using the product for more than 8 months without signs (at least no one has told me) of lead poisoning!

Answer:	When you search, don't search crystallized, search for dried ginger. Crystallized indicates sugared, because the process of crystallization is boiling in sugared water. Try searching dried or dehydrated as your term. I'll admit it's pretty difficult to find though. Hope this helps!

Answer:	Every 4 grams of sugar equals 1 teaspoon. This is the way you can figure out the sugar content of any food. Look for the total number of sugar grams per serving on the package and divide by 4. This will give you the sugar content or the total amount of teaspoons per serving.

Question:	Has anyone tried rinsing off the sugar (typical of crystallized ginger) and what's the difference in taste
Answer:	If I had to guess I would think it is the same as I used to buy at Whole foods I'm not sure about the TJ's but don't think it could be any better. Only difference I can tell is the 2.5 lb bag comes vacuum sealed and is more fresh then I get in the small packages. I do put it in 4 smaller zip lock bags to keep it from drying out. We go thru one every two months or so.

Answer:	Fiji....however, note: I purchased the smaller bags of ginger from Reed's previously and it was excellent....but when I got the one-pound bags, I was disappointed. The pieces were much larger, darker in color and more fibrous. Still tastes ok but I like the smaller pieces better. Try "The Ginger People"

Answer:	Hello, here are a couple of suggestions how to use our organic dried coconut smiles : eat as a healthy snack at work or while driving, share with others while doing a good hike, chop into small pieces and use as an ingredient in baking (macaroons, anybody ?), cooking (think Asian meals) or to sprinkle on a salad and surprise your guests - OK, after Covid.
