World's Finest Basmati is here
Dunar 'Nutritia' is our finest whole grain offering, possessing all the goodness of basmati, for the health minded. This rice is relatively low in calories, high in fiber and can be incorporated into a variety of dishes; still providing the nutritional trifecta of a whole grain: the bran, germ, and endosperm, which supply good-for-you nutrients.
Nutritional Goodness
Basmati is gluten-free and low in fat. It contains all eight essential amino acids, folic acid, and is very low in sodium and has no cholesterol. Basmati has a low to medium Glycemic index, meaning that energy is released at a slower, steadier rate leading to a more balanced level of energy.
Dunar Basmati has prominent characteristics like pleasant and exquisite aroma, sweet taste, dry and soft texture when cooked.
Physical qualities
Basmati is characterized by slender grains with chalky endosperm and shape comparable to a Turkish dagger. Basmati also possess the longest grain length compared to any other rice worldwide, with a minimum length-to-width ratio of three to qualify as Basmati.
Dunar Nutritia has distinctive earthy, light brown color. On cooking, the texture is firm and tender without splitting, and is non-sticky. (This quality is derived from the high amylose content in the rice).
Carefully selected and processed grains
This rice is indigenously grown, authentic Indian Basmati Rice, where each grain is further perfected by using 100% automated, ultra modern and high-tech rice milling and processing technologies, duly packed under strict hygienic conditions untouched by human hands.
We pay attention to every detail, with quality exceeding industry standards, employing modern equipments and multi level inspection, ensuring your package has uniform and consistent grains.
Simply Boiled
Swirl your hand through the water and the rice; the water will go cloudy. Repeat this washing process until the water runs clear. Fill up the bowl and let the rice soak for 30 minutes, then drain the rice.
Fill a medium saucepan with 1 3/4 cups water, add a pinch of salt, and bring to a boil. Add the rice, stir, and wait until the water comes back to a full boil, turn the heat down to lowest, and then cover. Cook for 15 minutes and then cut the heat. Let the rice sit for five minutes.
Gluten free delicacies
Steering clear of gluten doesn't mean staying away from all grains. Use this rice to create healthy recipes, paired with veggies or meat of choice. Indulge in a flavorful treat , be it Lunch or Dinner.
Health benefit and nutrition
Each serving of basmati rice contains roughly 35 g of carbohydrates. For white basmati rice, fiber content is typically less than 1 g. Fiber content of brown basmati rice is higher. Both types of rice contain little to no sugar. Basmati rice is a moderately good source of thiamine (13 percent of daily value) and niacin (8 percent of daily value). These B vitamins play a crucial role in energy metabolism. In addition to containing important B vitamins, each serving of basmati rice contains a small amount of iron (6 percent of daily value).

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the serving/calories listed on the nutrition facts for cooked or uncooked 1/4 cup of grains |
Answer: | Sadly that’s the cooked numbers. It’s so delicious you’ll definitely want a large portion. It, however, is very healthy, and the entire line from RiceSelect is wonderful. I’m vegan, and when I prepare this blend my house smells likes Thanksgiving. I use it as my main course. |
Question: | What kind of rice is the red, basmati etc |
Answer: | It's plain red rice if there's such a thing. There's no basmati in this blend despite the mention in the description. I bought it on sale so it was worth a try; it is not "high end" rice if you are fond of Asian-style long grain. This blend is heavier, probably due to the barley and rye. "This unique blend combines Texmati Brown Rice, red rice, pearled barley, and rye berries." |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the shelf life of the brown rice |
Answer: | It is well sealed so I get an order of the 4 pack once every two years or so. Once I open it I keep it frozen to avoid any loss of freshness. II find this the most 'fresh' tasting rice I have eaten, greatly surpassing the bagged rice in flavor. |
Question: | Why did seller describes it as long grain when some reviews claim it not long grain |
Answer: | Possibly because the Texmati Rice that is white is made from a cross of long grain white and basmati rice. |
Question: | I've read about issues with arsenic in rice especially coming from Texas...does anyone know about this particular brand being affected |
Answer: | My understanding, despite what others say here, is that while yes all soil has toxic substances, the arsenic level in Texas is significantly higher than in California where a competing brand is from. |
Question: | Only got one container but sight says 4 count package? Please respond |
Answer: | This happened to me also a few weeks ago, this guys are cheating people, i know it says 4 pack but you won’t get 4 pack, you get only one pack, i only can advice you to never buy anything from this seller, fet it from the store, for just $8.99 why you wanna spend $23.00? |

User questions & answers
Question: | How is this delivered? will it be in an amazon box? i just don't want it exposed if it's just within its sack. tia |
Answer: | 4.5- 3/4 cup (100g) servings |
Question: | Small black bugs are inside the bag. when i wash rice they are floating. what can be done |
Answer: | The bad doesn't say, but the company is located in Canada. Have you looked at their web site? |
Question: | How long is each grain fully cooked |
Answer: | These beans are NOT soft. Yes, they had to be soaked in order to sprout them, but then they had to dry them to make them shelf stable. The instructions do mention soaking for shorter cooking time. The instructions, exactly as written on the bag:Instructions:Add 1 cup of Beans to 4 cups of boiling water in a medium saucepan. Boil for 15 minutes.Remove from heat and drain.Ready to consume, or add to any meal.Makes 4 servings.Presoak for shorter cooking time.BTW, I used to eat these without presoaking or cooking and I loved the flavor -- then I broke a tooth. If you want to eat these straight out of the bag, do so at your own risk. Fixing a broken tooth can be quite painful AND expensive. Now I boil some water, remove the water from the heat, then add the beans. After soaking an hour or two, they're soft enough to eat as a snack (or add to a cooked dish). |
Question: | There is a rumour of synthetic rice adulteration in Royal brand basmati, especially that is sold from Amazon. Can i buy this rice with confidence |
Answer: | Hi Jean, I don't know precisely where these beans are grown, but I just assumed it was somewhere in Canada because it has the canadian organic label. I like the beans but the expense of shipping was over the top for me so I have to figure out a different source. Hope this is helpful! Best regards, Louise |

Answer: | Checked all over the bag and says nothing about being aged. Comes from India originally. My package says it good to 2021 if you want to call that aged lol |
Question: | How does one properly open the bag |
Answer: | No need to soak or wash. I put my rice in a pan with water, swirl it around, and pour off that water. Then I add new water (1 1/2 cups for 1 cup rice), turn on the heat, bring to boiling, cover. Then reduce the heat to the lowest setting for 16 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit covered 5 minutes. Fluff w fork. That’s my method, anyway. I like this Bombay Market rice a lot, will reorder. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Which are unpolished basmati rice |
Answer: | It says "gluten Free" ( GF ) on the front right bottom corner. |
Question: | what is the nutritional content |
Answer: | One thing that has gone unmentioned here is the fact that, basically, ALL sugar alcohols (Erythritol is one) are laxatives! How much of this effect that they will have on a person varies from individual to individual. The 1st time I used a Monk Fruit sweetener that contained Erythritol, I immediately noticed a lot of gas, and one time when I thought I was passing gas, I actually messed my pants! These Monk Fruit products are almost entirely Erythritol. If you look at a pack of pure Erythritol's ingredients, you'll see that it contains 4 grams of Erythritol per serving, with a serving size of 1 tsp. Look at the ingredients on this Monk fruit product, and you'll see a serving size that's the same, and the one with the least amount of Erythritol stated it had 3 grams. Most state 4 grams - EXACTLY THE SAME AS PURE ERYTHRITOL!!! The Monk Fruit shouldn't be allowed to be put on the label with such a small amount of it ACTUALLY IN THE PRODUCT. It's simply a marketing ploy INTENDED TO DISTRACT YOU FROM THE CHEMICAL NAME, ERYTHRITOL, AND PLACATE YOU WITH THE NAME OF A FRUIT!! I also noticed that if I used a different sugar alcohol, Xylitol, for a portion of the sweetener (2 cups Erythritol + 1/2 cup Xylitol (another sugar acid), I can drink far more of the root beer that I use it in, without near as much gas. |
