Answer: I recently purchased this and the shelf life is over a year for my jar, expiry in 2014. It won't last that long ... we use ours for everything now! Love it. I stire in the pantry, but assume you could store in the refrigerator. I think it's more helpful to have at room temperature for daily use.
Question: My jar tasted like alfalfa smells. Is this normal
Answer: Well rye is a grain, and they also get wheat, so they get a bit of grains. I am looking for 100% grain/corn/soy free - this one is at least 100% corn/soy free with some feed supplementation that contains some grains. My concern is for the lectins that find their way into animal foods from grains/corn/soy (for a good resource regarding this, The Plant Paradox by Dr Gundry is an excellent read). I've found, by removing or blocking such lectins (with lectin blocking supplements - but avoid ones with pepsin, that can be bad news - Lectin Lock was the first one I tried with very good results), that I do much better health wise - for instance, my blood sugars instantly stabilized without any additional interventions. I'm impressed with the reviews for this product, so even though it's not 100% grain free, I plan to try it.

Answer: $59.99? $35? April 2020 the price is $55? Both of those are ridiculous. I paid $11.95 for this same product in Dec. 2018. I can buy similar quality ghee for the same price now. You'd be a fool to pay this much for clarified butter.

We are also tested and certified casein, lactose, and gluten-free, and certified Paleo-friendly. This includes the ingredients we use in all of our flavors. Our vanilla and garlic ingredients are certified organic. While our ghee itself is not USDA Organic-certified, it actually exceeds many of the organic standards and is among the purest available in the industry.Finally, because white truffles are not farmed, there are currently no available certified organic varieties.

Answer: Hi Prasad, A1 / A2 grades refer to the type of beta-casein protein found in milk. Because our filtration removes virtually all protein (we are certified lactose and casein-free), the A1/2 question doesn't really apply. Our cows are 100% pastured and grass fed (not grain finished like some "grass fed" brands), and raised on pesticide- and herbicide-free pastures, and are of course raised without the use of hormones or antibiotics.

Answer: Silly statement but anyone buying clarified butter knows this. They should just say it safe for most people with dairy allergies which I dont have. It looks like a great product for camping and backpacking so I'm ordering some. Never eat bread without "butter" ;)

Answer: To add to the seller's response - it does not require a high temperature. When heating the butter on a medium-low heat the water starts to evaporate at water's boiling point (212 F), at this point the milk solids start to separate from the fat and this makes clarified butter. The milk solids sink to the bottom and the clarified butter continues to simmer while the milk solids caramelize from the heat. Realize that milk solids have a much lower smoke point than the butter fat, which is why it separates and caramelizes without the butter needing to be heated excessively. The caramel flavor doesn't mean high heat during processing or cholesterol oxidation, it's simply a result of the separation of milk solids and their smoke point being lower.

Answer: No, it does not need to be refrigerated after opening. You can bring it with you anywhere!

Answer: Our products have not obtained Kosher certification at this time. Additionally, our Ghee is not dairy-free. However, it has little to no casein or lactose, meaning even very dairy-sensitive people can usually eat it. With that being said, we recommend checking with your physician if you reserve any doubts.
Question: Is this ghee oil blend casein-free
Answer: Pretty sure ghee is ~99.4% free of any milk solids. So the answer is yes, it does (considering, it does come from a cow), but the milk solids that are present are the lowest you will find in any dairy (~0.6%).
Question: Why do you make the bottles with such small tapered tops!? Impossible to get out unless it’s heated
Answer: No. It's ghee. It's all the fat from butter with the dairy removed.

Our Yak Ghee is made from A2/A2 butter that comes from yaks living wildly roaming the vast grass plains and mountains of Mongolia. The yaks have an incredibly diverse diet of over 200 types of grasses and herbs and are herded by traditional pastoral nomads.

A2/A2 refers to the type of beta-casein protein. Most cow milk genetically contains both the A1 + A2 casein proteins, but yak milk is unique in that it only contains A2. A2/A2 milk and ghee made from it, is suggested to have less digestive issues for people sensitive to lactose or dairy.

    Answer: No, ghee does not. One thing I will tell you about this product is that if you get the one with sea salt in it, please note the bottom. If it’s pink, that’s the salt. It settles at the bottom. Maybe it melted and resolidified but I didn’t notice til I was at the bottom. Just FYI.

    Answer: *ATTENTION* PLEASE don't blame the company OR the original farmers!!! Crazy cost increases are because many U.S. livestock & livestock byproduct (like ghee) processors are closed. No one remembers how to or has facilities and equipment for self process. Thus truck tanks of milk are being dumped on the ground, chickens are being buried alive, hogs are being scalded to death at truck washes, animal fetuses are being aborted. What little does make it to processing is being paid much, much more for so the process plants don't go totally belly up. By the time products reach consumers, the prices are becoming exorbitant. I don't know where you're from but in the midwest with pastures full of cow/calf pairs and full feedlots all around us, hamburger is $9 per pound for 80/20 from the grocery store. NOTE: This "land of plenty" is NOT going in farmers pockets. Their contracts are being reneged on. All the work they have put in to get something ready to go is being dumped, buried, scalded, aborted, etc. Obviously it's not translating to savings for consumers as you have noted. Nor is the manufacturer, such as this company, either at fault or benefiting from the price jump. Virtually every aspect of agriculture is losing their shirt right now. Sad combination of having become so efficient with varying phases completed in varying locations that any lag along the line brings the whole system down. Just like a virus no one's ever dealt with bringing entire countries down. This may not be the place for the comment I have made but from the Heartland and from a largely agricultural family, i can't quite help hoping perhaps I can catch the eye of the right citizen who can make a difference in this colossal collapse.
