The new one is almost exactly the same weight, maybe a couple of ounces lighter. I took the new one to the lady making my cake and she said that the weight was fine as long as the base would fit on my six inch top cake. I'm going to go ahead and use the enesco because it is just too precious. My wedding is august 23rd so I'm keeping my fingers crossed and trusting my baker:)
