About Johnsonville
In 1945, Ralph F. and Alice Stayer opened a butcher shop and named it after their quaint hometown – Johnsonville, Wisconsin. The delicious sausage made in the Stayer’s butcher shop came from an old family recipe, which made its way down the family tree from 19th-century Austria. This recipe became known as the sausage with the BIG TASTE, and a legacy was born!
We here at Johnsonville have a moral responsibility to create and maintain an environment that requires each member to fully develop their God-given talents. We achieve this by living the Johnsonville Way.

User questions & answers
Question: | How many carbs |
Answer: | This is extremely soft and pliable. It is not tough on any level. However, it IS stringy like all pork is....You can tell that on the image. It would be very possible, I think, to further chop this smaller and easily feed to a person with missing teeth. I have a few missing molars due to a health issue, and I eat it with no worries. |
Question: | Does the bag say keep frozen on it |
Answer: | I've eaten them to 5 years old and they're still fantastic. I haven't had these long enough to go past 5 years old but other meats I have tried have had mixed results. Sardines suck by 3 years, tuna is good to at least 6 years in my experience; Spam is good to at least 6 years, as well,l in my experience. I've tested a lot of vegetables, canned pastas, canned meats and fish, etc., for quality fresh, near or at the best-buy date, and a year or two beyond the date.in all cases, fresh is best, best-buy is good (except, in those things I tested, sardines), and a year or two later is ok. At least by the best-buy date, if you don't have fresh next to it for comparison, you wouldn't know it was not at it's best but if you compare fresh to 5-year-old, side-by-side, you can tell the difference. |
Question: | Nutrition facts |
Answer: | 3 years ago this month. I bought this on Amazon, it was $3.11 per 28 oz. can. It was at least double the price by the next time I wanted to order again. It's a crime! |
Question: | If this product is fully cooked why would it need to be heated to " 165F for food safety reasons |
Answer: | The nut driver is not available as a separate part. |

User questions & answers
Question: | what kind of packaging |
Answer: | It came in a plastic bag with no zip lock. Poorly packaged. Many of the meatballs went to waste before I could use them all, and they weren’t even tasty. When I think a Swedish meatball it should be sweet. These weren’t good. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What's the nutrition info |
Answer: | I added a photo of the nutritional information under my review. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Why has a photo of the nutrition label been omitted from this posting? Doesn't law require the nutrition label be provided where the product is sold |
Answer: | Toward the end of the description is a list of ingredients. Would make it easier if it was added as a cover photo. |
Question: | Why so much soy in meatballs |
Answer: | I am guessing but the soy is probably used as a filler and to hold the meat balls together. Easy to heat up and tasty meatballs for a quick protein meal. |
Question: | How big are the meatballs |
Answer: | Maybe 1.5 inches in diameter. I used them for meatball sandwiches and they were small for the hoagie rolls, but they taste great so I just buy smaller rolls. |

It all started with a Mozzarella Stick
In 1982, we built our business out of sticks. Mozzarella Sticks, actually. We were the first appetizer brand available in grocery stores. In 1997, we expanded to include more easy-to-prepare wholesome snacks and appetizers, created specifically for busy, on-the-go families. We also introduced our famously popular French Toast Sticks which everybody, from kids to adults, still loves.
