Answer: | I do not know if all herbal teas are decaf. I, personally, stay away from herbal teas as some have contributed to the start of migraine headaches. |
Question: | Is this tea caffeine free |
Answer: | You're correct that Decaffeinated Teas do have small amounts of caffeine. However, all of the teas in this variety pack are herbal teas, and are caffeine free. |
Question: | is this product organic? If not, do they make one? I can't find |
Answer: | Yes, for iced tea by the quart, place 6 tea bags in a quart-size container. Pour 1 cup, (8oz), of boiling water over the teabags and let them steep for 10 minutes. Remove the teabags and add 3 cups of cold water. Chill or serve over ice. I hope this helped. |
Question: | Is this the same peppermint herbal tea sold in the green tin |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does harney & sons make the irish breakfast tea in tea bags, or is it only available in the loose form |
Answer: | Yes-Harney makes sachets for this -they are packaged in large ziplocs of 50 for around $20 |
Question: | Is the Genmaicha green tea decaf or caffeinated |
Answer: | Thank you for your question. The Genmaicha Green Tea does contain caffeine. |
Question: | What is the country of origin of the green tea that is mixed with the toasted rice |
Answer: | Japan. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genmaicha |
Question: | how many cups does this yield |
Answer: | I agree more with Mark M than Robert L. The old rule of thumb for brewing tea is "one teaspoon per cup and one for the pot." I brew a large (about 32 oz) pot with about 4 slightly rounded teaspoons and let it steep for just under 5 min. This makes a good cup of tea. Stronger can be better, but this tea can have you bouncing off the ceiling if you overdo it. I have been faithfully buying Harney Teas for almost 10 years and prefer loose tea because it is MUCH more economical than bags or sachets. I also think it is "greener." Hope a woman's opinion helps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this darjeeling tea fully tea board certified? i don't see the logo anywhere |
Answer: | This particular one is not but if you search for Harney organic Darjeeling, I do sell that as well. |
Question: | Is this tea pretty caffeinated |
Answer: | This question would be difficult to answer with authority without a good chemistry set. Lacking that, I can offer that it is pretty much my normal morning wake up drink. Tea, even loose leaf, is not as caffeinated as the same amount of coffee, but it works fine for me. Coffee easily leaves me with a acid stomach but that never happens with a nice black tea. H&S Darjeling has been one of my favorites for many years. If you want or need that coffee caffeine jolt, this tea won't do it for you. If you're trying to avoid that jolt, both this tea and H&S Earl Grey should both be on your shelf handy for your morning satisfying wake up drinking pleasure. |
Question: | Are they made with just the tea leaves or does Harney use the stems as well? Im not meaning any additives to the blends, ie; fruit, nuts, ect. TY |
Answer: | Hello. I've gone through lots of tins of H&S Darjeeling, English Breakfast and Earl Grey over the past several years. I don't have any Darjeeling at this moment, but I checked both my tins of of English Breakfast and Earl Grey and both look to be very consistent in texture. Looking closely, I could make a reasonable claim that there are a few leaf stems but very few. I have never suspected that the producer has been allowing extra stems be shipped with the tea I want. I don't think you have to worry about this issue with this producer. I could say more, but my mug of English Breakfast is ready and I'm keen to get to it. I have never been dissatisfied with the quality or taste of this tea. |
Question: | How many cups do you get out of the 4oz tin |
Answer: | It's how strong or weak you make it. I like tea strong so I guess the 4ozs tea made 25 cups. You like it weak? Possibly 40 cups! |

User questions & answers
Question: | packaging |
Answer: | The individual packaged tea bags came in a Red and olive green cardboard box, count of 50 bags. This tea along with the Earl Grey tea we purchased, were packed in another container, well packed and labeled. Harney and Sons always provide superior products. I hope this info is what you were looking for. |
Question: | Contain peppermint leaves only? or with other parts of the plant |
Answer: | Peppermint leaves only. 100% peppermint leaves. |
Question: | The ingredients say artificial flavors; would that include sweeteners of any kind |
Answer: | Based on some digging online from people who have emailed H&S, it seems that at least one of the flavorings is cinnamaldehyde, a pure version of an oil found in cinnamon and used to give cinnamon candies and cinnamon flavored gum a spicy, sweet flavor. It is possible that is what is the source of the sweetness. Because it is classified as a flavoring and not a sweetener, they can label it as a flavoring. |
Question: | Is this same as Harney and Sons Classic Tea Sachet in Tin, Paris, 20 Count? Because I've tried both and they taste and smell different |
Answer: | Well, to be honest, I haven't used a 20-count tea sachet in so long that I don't remember what they taste like. I've been buying the 50-count box because it was such a better deal. I can tell you this, I have never been disappointed in the tea bags in the 50-count box. |

User questions & answers
Question: | can i steep tea more then one time |
Answer: | This tea has not been Kosher certified. |
Question: | Question for the seller please. Are these whole tea leaves? Thanks |
Answer: | Thank you for asking this question. I am also wondering about the exact same thing as you are. I will not purchase this tea uNeil I get a clear answer. Thank you for asking. |
Question: | How many cups of tea can you get from 8 oz. container |
Answer: | Do you research, and you'll see that even if you ignore all the Chinese food contamination scandals, air pollution in China may mean green tea has risky levels of heavy metals, lead, and other airborne pollutants. Being organic, which means pesticides weren't used, isn't good enough for buying tea from China, if you're consuming tea regularly for the health benefits. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the “flavor” listed in the Paris loose tea artificial |
Answer: | [email protected] This is the email address for the company. I looked at my tea tins, I have a couple of flavored tea, the Paris and one with roses. The actual tin does not specifically say if it is natural or artificial flavoring. If I had to guess, I think it is probably both. My tea with roses actually has rose petals in it. As for the Paris, it is one of my favorite teas and I have ordered it several times. Just looking at the tea, I can not see pieces of vanilla beans - so do they use extract or remove vanilla beans prior to packaging as an example or use artificial flavoring? I simply don't know and can't tell from what is written on the tea tin or by looking at the tea itself. I'm sorry that I couldn't have been more helpful. But since it seems important to you, I'd email the company. |
Question: | How many cups of tea does this tin brew |
Answer: | Right on the label it says 30-40 cups. If you go to the web page for it it says it's $8 and costs $0.23 cents per cup. That's 34 and 3/4 cups in a 4 ounce tin. |
Question: | what are the dimensions of the tin |
Answer: | Approximately 3x3x4. This is from memory... but it is a decent size tin. |
Question: | Please could you tell me how much loose tea do you need to make a mug of tea? or how many mugs does 4 oz of tea make. thanks |
Answer: | If you are referring to this particular tea, PARIS, a 4 oz tin makes 30-40 cups. Mugs are different sizes as well so I would say 30. By the cup, you would use a teaspoon. When made by the “pot” the saying is an extra teaspoon for the pot. Different teas yield different cup amounts too as well as personal preference to weak or stronger flavor of their tea. |

User questions & answers
Question: | When should i expect my purchase arrival |
Answer: | With in a few days of ordering. |
Question: | Are sachets for a pot or a cup of tea |
Answer: | Sachets can be used for either, I like strong tea and if ur making a pot which usually holds 7 cups I would put in 1-2 extra sachets. For a cup 1:1 ratio for a pot also 1:1 unless u want it stronger. It’s trial and error regarding ur taste |
Question: | is it a just a total of 30? Or is it 30x |
Answer: | 30 bags per tin. Sometimes 3 tons are bundled in a sale for a total of 90 bags in 4 tins. Love this tea |
Question: | what are the artificial flavors in hot cinnamon sunset |
Answer: | The Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice list of ingredients on the back does not specify. It is a very delightful, strong cinnamon with orange peel black tea. The packaging only says "natural and artificial flavors." |
