Below you can find our editor's choice of the best blue bottle coffee blend on the marketProduct description
This coffee is generally a blend of Congolese and two different Ethiopians coffees. Together, these components produce a big, chocolaty aroma and excel in just about every prep method, save espresso and siphon. Unlike some of our fancy-shmancy single origins, this blend has a very easy-to-like personality, good body, unthreatening complexity, and a reasonably clean aftertaste. The coffees—two Ethiopians, one dry-processed and one wet processed; and a wet-processed Congolese—leave subtle imprints of dried blueberries and cardamom.
- Blue Bottle Coffee
- Three Africans
- Fruity, radiant, creamy
- Ethiopia, Uganda
- Freshly Roasted, Whole Beans
User questions & answers
Question: | is this dark coffee |
Answer: | All whole bean coffee is vegan. Yes. |
Question: | Are the beans as fresh as those in Blue Bottle Coffee stores |
Answer: | The brush that I received absolutely has the handle that is shown in the picture. It is a rubbery, squishy kind of feel...hence the name “gel grips.” Ive been using these brushes for years but can’t find them in the stores anymore |
Question: | If I don't open the coffee bag, how long dose the coffee stay fresh |
Answer: | The packaging says metal. The paddle does retain heat from the blow dryer, so must be metal. |
- BRIGHT WHOLE-BEAN BLEND: Bright is the word we use to describe coffees that naturally lean toward fruitiness, with a bit of refreshing acidity. This radiant and uplifting organic blend brings together coffees from East Africa.
- A LIGHTER ROAST: To retain the natural fruitiness and radiance of the coffee, we use a lighter hand when roasting. It’s a beautifully balanced cup on its own and plays well with milk.
- CERTIFIED ORGANIC: Sourced with care, made with all certified-organic coffee.
- NATURAL-PROCESSED COFFEE: The blend includes natural-process Ethiopian beans, which means the coffee seeds or beans are dried with the coffee cherry intact, infusing them with exceptional berry flavors.
- RADIANT, UPLIFTING FLAVORS: The beans taste naturally of blueberry, lemon zest, and golden raisin, with no added flavorings. It’s the ideal coffee when you want an invigorating start to your day or need an afternoon pick-me-up.
User questions & answers
Question: | Are these beans nitrogen flushed or not |
Answer: | I have not had Starbucks blonde. I use these beans for espresso and the are neither bitter or sour. Very smooth and light. I drink espresso straight no sugar and really enjoy these beans. |
Question: | Same as cold brew cans |
Answer: | It’s dark roast coffee and tasty not bitter or sweet. You can adjust by yourself by sugar or cream. |
Question: | Is this coffee powder or beans? If beans, can tou make it powder |
Answer: | Blond Espresso and Blonde Roast are both marketing names for light roast coffee--coffee removed early from the roasting process. Blond Espresso is a name used by Starbucks in Canada for a roast somewhat darker than the "blond roast" that Wink sells. Starbucks is now also using the name in the U.S. Light roast coffee requires high quality beans whereas dark roasting covers more imperfections. Light roast coffee also delivers more caffeine as some caffeine is lost in the the additional roasting required for medium or dark roast. I am on my second kilogram bag of Wink Blond Roast. I grind just enough for a pour over brew and it delivers a very mellow cup with (for me) just the right amount of caffeine. |
Question: | Are these roast to order or have they been roasted some time ago |
Answer: | Mocha Java is by definition a blend of Indonesian and Ethiopian coffees. |

User questions & answers
Question: | how many bags |
Answer: | I'd have to say medium, but it is truely the best tasting coffee my wife and I have ever had! |
Question: | Is this the same Bella Donovan, roasted on or about Oct. 23, that smelled and tasted ‘dirty sock green’, that smelled of alcohol — a byproduct of mold |
Answer: | I couldn’t tell. Beans are decaffeinated before roasting so color is likely to be same if the original beans are the same. That said, the decaf process can affect color, but I didn’t see it with these beans. |
Question: | Is this coffee some third-wave under-roasted hot lemonade bull crap? Got it as a gift and wondering if I should just throw it out |
Answer: | The beans are not oily at all and should work great in your super automatic espresso machine! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these 100% arabica beans |
Answer: | No no date of roasting but there is an expiration date if that helps you.we love the beans and have reordered several times |
Question: | I bought one bag and it was old, If I subscribe will it be the same issue |
Answer: | Hello, Roasted beans vary on the sheen of the beans, meaning medium/dark roasts show some sheen on the beans, and dark/espresso roast show the most of an oil and glossy sheen on the beans. The darker the roasts, the more sheen or oil will show. Medium and light roasts do not show any oils. Hope this helps you. Thank you. Sincerely, RhoadsRoast Coffees |
Question: | Which of the 49th Parallel roasts is suitable for a superautomatic espresso machine |
Answer: | Hello, No it does not. Fresh roasted coffees beans have a freshness dating of 8.5 weeks when stored properly. Once the beans arrive, open the bag and allow these to breathe for 2-3 hours to allow the remaining CO2 to expel from the roasting process.. The bag is NOT for storage but is a vehicle to transport from us to the customers plus the one way de-gassing valve will break down over time if it does not remain pliable. After the 2-3 hours, store the beans in an air-tight, burp-able container, away from light and moisture. Store is a dark pantry or cupboard for maximum freshness lasting up to 8.5 weeks, grind as needed. Ground coffee is fresh for only 11-12 days. Thank you. Sincerely, RRC |
Question: | Do these beans come roasted fresh from 49th Parallel and have a decent roast date from when you order them |
Answer: | Hello,, Green beans are roasted depending upon what roast level that you enjoy, i.e., light, medium, dark, light/medium, medium/dark. The coffee beans are imported already milled and you will be roasting at temperatures 400+ with a variety of roasting equipment that can be used, such as a pop corn popper, skillets, small convection ovens, roaster equipment. We do not know what you have so we suggest that you check options on-line that would best suit your use and living environment. One strong suggestion is that you do not roast in your home because roasting may cause smoke depending on your roast level and method. Thank you. Sincerely, RRC |

User questions & answers
Question: | are these beans "oily"? thanks |
Answer: | hi. the beans are not oily at all. they are perfectly roasted. oily is a misconception that oily is the freshest bean, but it can be quite the opposite. depending on what type of machine you have the Lavazza beans are the best. We have a Gaggia Titanium and all other beans get stuck/clogged. hope this helps. |
Question: | Would this coffee be good to use in a regular drip coffeemaker, or is an espresso maker required? Thank you |
Answer: | It will make a smooth, flavorable cup of regular coffee. Just grind the beans for a drip coffee machine. The Super Crema Espresso Beans are an Italian roast (medium) rather than a dark roast that is sometimes bitter. Some mornings when time is tight, I make a pot of regular coffee and steam milk for cafe au lait. |
Question: | How many servings are in this bag |
Answer: | It all depend on how you use it. I use 19 grams of beans to pull a 36 gram 28 second espresso shot (I use a non-pressurized filter). 2.2 lbs = 1000 grams, thus, I get about 52 cappuccinos. I probably average about 2.5 per day, therefore, each bag lasts me about 3 weeks. With a pressurized filter, the standard is 7 grams per shot, therefore, 140 shots. Using my chemex I will use 10 grams per cup, therefore I get 100 cups. Many people use 7 grams per cup, so they will get 140 cups. Hope this helps. (btw, this comes to about 45 cents per cappuccino, with milk it comes to 60 cents each, at 2.5 per day I spend $1.50 for what would cost me $10 per day at Starbucks (the McDonald's of coffee). |
Question: | What is the difference going from Super Crema to Gran Crema |
Answer: | Both are medium roasts. However, the Gran Crema is 40% South America arabica and 60% Southeast Asia robusta beans, where Super Crema is 60% Southeast Asia robusta beans and and 40% South American arabica beans, so the Super Crema is going to be more delicate with brighter tones (more fruity) while the Gran Crema is going to have deeper and richer tones, more chocolate-y and nutty. For those who say that these beans are bitter, they--or their machine--may be overextracting the beans. If grinding your own, may want to try a coarser grind to make less bitter. If sour, may want to try grinding finer. Can be a little difficult to distinguish the two, so may want to do some research online for how to differentiate. Regarding the flavor of creama (not this product, but generally speaking), creama usually does not taste very good. What crema does help do is allow one to identify how well their extraction went. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is well packed to avoid breakage? My sister tried ordering diet coke & fritos from pantry. One can got away, broke open, crushed the fritos |
Answer: | VERY welll packaged: box is for at least 12 bottles with the 6 ordered in the center sections of the cardboard perpendicular interlaced separators - think of box for Christmas ornament balls, but made of sturdy cardboard. Cold Brew comes in its own box with no other items. |
Question: | Is it concentrated |
Answer: | It's a wonderful drink! Yes it's concentrated. |
Question: | Does anyone else have a problem with no expiration date on the bottles |
Answer: | The expiration date is on the side of the box. Mine says 1/2019 |
Question: | Does anyone know why the black and unsweetened has 15 calories and 3g of carbohydrates if the ingredients are only water and coffee |
Answer: | I went on the Starbucks website and for the unsweetened cold brew, it has approx. 210 mg of caffeine. Here's a breakdown: Nutrition Facts Per Serving (11 fl oz) Calories 15 Calories from Fat 0 % Daily Value* Total Fat 0g 0% Saturated Fat 0g 0% Trans Fat 0g Cholesterol 0mg 0% Sodium 0mg 0% Total Carbohydrate 3g 1% Dietary Fiber 0g 0% Sugars 0g Protein 1g Caffeine 210mg** *Percent Daily Values are based on a 2,000 calorie diet. **Each caffeine value is an approximate value.
