Answer:	The whole purpose of this seat is for the slow close. If you don't want slow close, then look for regular toilet seat....and it will be less expensive. You could go to a Lowes or Home Depot to see other models. Normal closure you can, but you would be pushing the seat down if you want it down immediately.
