Answer:	I'm sure there is some since I have the system connected to a drain line, but it's not something that I've ever noticed. There's no noise and I haven't seen a noticeable increase in my water bill since installing the system. I recently had to drain my pool and refill it. That made my water bill go up about $25 for around 12,000 gallons of additional water for that month. Answer:	No amp needed, the sub powers the speakers. However, I would recommend the Logitech z506 instead. I have both and I regret purchasing the acoustic audio speakers. Logitechs are better sounding, louder, more durable, and easier to set up.

Answer:	I am SO disappointed in these speakers. As the others have said it is NOT a true 5.1 sound system. Even though the sound is magnificent for the price, it is NOT a discrete 5.1 system. Watching a movie, the sound designed for discrete front speakers totally leaked into the back surround speakers. I wish I had known this before I purchased. Well others do now.
