The television receives information to display the picture along with the sound, that is the function of the DVD player. One can play disks from the USA that are NTSC format and someone in the USA can play my disks that use the PAL format on their NTSC TV receiver using a Majority Scholars Compact DVD. My player connects using the RCA plug leads. The one in the USA uses the HDMI lead.

Answer:	If your TV has HDMI or AV jack, it usually can be connected to TVs.
Question:	Does accommodate closed captioning
Answer:	You can get Closed Caption by going through the RCA cables only, and then selecting CC on your TV remote. HMDI does not support Closed Caption. I have a Blu-Ray player that has both RCA (white, red, yellow cables) and HDMI output. My TV has both RCA and HDMI inputs, but I had to temporarily disconnect the HDMI cable from the TV so the it would recognize the RCA cable, thus giving me the Closed Caption. Closed Caption is not the same as subtitles.

Question:	Can this player record from an external input
Answer:	A DVD PLAYER only plays back. If you want a recorder you need to search for "DVD player RECORDER". If the description doesn't say it's a recorder, then it can only play back, NOT record, the two functions use different hardware. Player-Recorders are more complicated, larger and more expensive than single-function players.

Built-in USB port for playing digital audio and video files, so easy to use, you can enjoy smooth, detailed video from USB, offering excellent home theater experience.Via USB (Note: Only support part of videos in MP4 format, but not all videos in MP4 format)

USB connection for playing your films, music and photos from the USB stick.

This function can copy MP3, MPEG4, CD to USB or memory card. The copy rate is determined by the files.

Note:

If the memory capacity is relatively small than the file to be copied, the program cannot execute or display an ERROR. Supports only part of MP4 format videos, but not all MP4 format videos. Please take out the disc when using USB and card reader.

Karaoke CD/DVD player
