Recording with this player using the USB port is for compressed music files only!So MP3s that are compressed will still sound even more compressed. I bought this for the Burr-Brown DACand a Onkyo 7030 for the Wolfson DAC!Using the add on features may be useful to some but it's really a waste IMO seeing how you lose so much Dynamic Range. Your knocking it down to vinyl standards with a good phono stage like the Carver C-1 preamp has built into it.Using this CD player with even a top of the line receiver will be nothing like using it with separate components. Using a good quality preamp and amp will allow you to get the best possible sound out of a stand alone CD player. I would also state that the Onkyo 7030 is a step up in sound quality over this CD player. I only bought the TEAC for it's Burr-Brown DAC and the fact that it will act as a back up CD player on my C-1's AUX 2 input!It's not a bad player, however, a + or - 2 DB frequency response is rather bad. The Onkyo is + or - .25 DB in comparison. Although I will admit that most people can't hear the difference.The Onkyo 7030 was my first Onkyo purchase and at a 11.7LB weight it's the best CD player on the market for under $400 easily! This Teac is the second best sub $400 player you can buy! People that claim they can actually hear the difference between CD players are usually kidding themselves and unless they are using separate components with a very good preamp and amp you simply can't hear the difference! They can claim all day long that they can, the truth is it's a ego thing! If you actually perform A/B testing between several different players you can see for yourself how true this actually is!I have friends that are very good guitarists and they have a good sense of sound in general. None of them can hear the difference as long as the output volume is the same. I always just suggest that you do the A/B testing yourself with a couple of friends and then you will understand what I have known for many years! People claim all sorts odd things. Such as hearing the difference between two similar turntables, hearing the difference between 14 gauge copper speaker wire and 10 gauge copper speaker wire. This is a joke as if you actually do A/B testing on your own you will see how full of cra* these people really are!!

Answer:	This is not a "complete" unit, but merely picks sounds off the CDs and provides output to send to (not included) speakers. Did you have a CD player previously? If so you would likely make the same connections to get CD output to your speakers. Otherwise, you will need another unit which will do that, probably including an amp. Might be time to reach out for help to someone in your circle of acquaintance. Mine is plugged into an "AV Receiver", (ONKYO brand, model TX-SR502) which also receives signal from my DVD player, turntable, TV, and internet radio receiver. The unit also provides radio tuner output if I want to listen to radio. Obviously, this is a separate unit which enables one to select which input to listen to.

Answer:	Hi Maria: if you are playing a CD, that has been recorded with songs in individual tracks, say 1-17; if you are listening to a song on track 5, you can STOP that song from playing, and the CD player will stop on that track, in that particular place. If you "hit" the play button again, the CD will continue playing that song. You can also "Fast Forward" that song, and stop the player before the end of the track. At the end of the track, the player will automatically go to the next track. One thing you can not do, as you can with a DVD player, that is playing a DVD that has been recorded with music, is STOP the CD player from playing a track, and then reverse the player to a previous point on the track you have been playing - the player will automatically revert to the previous track. However, if the CD you are playing has not been recorded in tracks, but is just one continuous sequence of songs, then you would be able to reverse the player to a previous position on the CD. The CD player keeps track of the total time of the DISK being played, and displays it on the indicator on the front panel. So, if you have written down the time your favorite song starts to play, you would be able to start your favorite song playing, from a Fast Forward position, by just stopping the player, and then restarting it in the ordinary Play mode, or reverse the player to the time displayed in which your favorite song starts. Question:	regarding onkyo dx c390 - can i discs, press play to hear music or is it necessary to connect speakers? i just opened pkg and do not see speakers
Answer:	This is a CD player/changer only. Not only will you need speakers, you will also need an amplifier (which could be incorporated into a stereo receiver). And "RCA"-type cables and speaker wire to connect your new audio system. Good luck.
Question:	My Onkyo CD player is having a weird issue. The first track is jittery but the rest of the tracks play fine. Any ideas as to how to fix it
Answer:	The CD may have a bad track. Sometimes wiping it off gently with a static-free cloth will fix the problem. I found the same problem - thought it was the CD changer - but it was a bad audio track. In troubleshooting, be sure to change to another CD so the first one is ejected. Then play another CD and see if the problem returns. After removing the CD with the bad track, power down the CD changer for about 30 seconds in order to clear the system. Power the unit back on and select a new CD. If the problem doesn't return, open the CD loading door and load in the problem CD, select that CD and see if the problem returns.

Answer:	This 6 CD player has a Repeat option and a Shuffle option. If you use them both simultainiously all tracks on all disks will shuffle indefinately. Unless you get a seriously defective unit like I did. And then they just stop doing so after about 4 or 5 tracks.

Answer:	You can choose which sensors are used to control the furnace. If you only select one, that sensor will determine the room temp. If you select more than one sensor, the system uses the average to determine when to run the furnace. If you use wireless sensors you can move them around to deal with uneven temps.

Answer:	The side brackets come off to make it a free standing unit. I would guess that the feet remove easily if one wanted to install it in a rack. I can not check until next week, I will try to measure it for you, check the feet and get back to you

Answer:	there is no power unit (amplifier) in this cd player. It needs to be run through and external amp or receiver. The power of that external amp will determine how many speakers, etc. you can use.

Answer:	No idea! But I am thinking that the disc changer is one component of three (CD player, amp and speakers) The end result would also rely on quality of amp and speakers. Without real high end amp and speakers, this should be better than the wave radio. Not kicking the Bose system Just the package selection.

Answer:	On both the radio and the radio's remote control is a button labelled On/Standby that turns the radio on/off. On remote the button is red and on the radio it's just above the volume button to the left side. You should look on the instructions under the tab Disc/Playback for on/off p. E-12 and p. E-4 under the tab Front Panel. Also, on the radio's remote is a button labelled sleep as a timer to turn off the radio, if you forget to do so.

Answer:	Yes! I love this feature. MY only issue with this player is the complicated instructions . Otherwise it sounds great. I have 3 BOSE units which sound good, are compact, & easy to use.....but they are ALWAYS on the fritz. This little SHARP unit is small, sounds good, and most importantly for me....it has the 5 disc capability. I've had it about 4 years now & it has never failed to operate properly. AND it's almost 3x less in price than a BOSE.... which only plays ONE disc. No brainer!

Answer:	No, the above is the size of the main unit, though my measurments are slightly different. Measurement across the top of the unit with the speakers at each side of the main player: 19 inches. Speakers, each: 5-3/4” X 7-1/2” X 10-1/2”. Main unit: 6-3/4” X 9-1/2” X 11-1/2”
Question:	cant he speakers be separated from base unit and how long is the wire from back of base unit to speaker
Answer:	The speakers are, indeed, separate from the base unit. The speakers are "hardwired" with about 6-feet length of rather thin gauge wire. The main unit has simple spring-loaded terminals to pinch the bare ends of the speaker wires. I added some additional length of heavier gauge wire to the existing wires to get the length I needed. The speakers are 6-ohms, but the manual states something like, "don't use speakers that are less than 6-ohms", which, to me, indicates one could use different speakers as long as they are at least 6-ohm. For example, 8-ohm speakers are common, but they might wouldn't be as efficient with the relatively low-powered 50-watt amplifier ... some they wouldn't be able to get as loud as the stock 6-ohm speakers.

Question:	What does "Upscaling" mean
Answer:	It creates a simulated high-definition picture that can look fine. However, many 4K sets these days already upscale any DVD feed (to 1080p) or even 1080p feed (to 4K), and it may sometimes happen that a player that is upscaling will have the results clash with the upscaling feature available with the set. This happened with my player and I had to go to its menu and disable the upscaling feature. The player then worked fine.

Answer:	It has a HDMI connector but the cable does not come in the box.
Question:	can anyone tell me if this DVD player supports closed captioning for DVD's
Answer:	If you want to upscale via HDMI, it will not display the CC. HDMI doesn't support CC, nor do modern TVs, except for broadcast where it is government-mandated. The old composite (yellow) connection is analog and will show CC, but then what's the point of having an upscaling player? HD incompatibility with CC (not to be confused with subtitles) has been an major issue in the deaf community since the government, in its rush to digital, forgot about it. Now, however, some BluRay players, like Sony 3500 and 3700, have a CC decoder built in that reads and transfers DVD's CC (BDs all have subtitles) before they gets to the HDMI cable so they will finally show up on a modern TV, which is not equipped to decode CC via HDMI. While the decoder used to be in the the old analog CRTs, now it is in the new players after being missing from HDMI until 2015. The Sony 510H is not among the players that decode CC through HDMI, so if you're hearing-impaired and a DVD has CC rather than subtitles, you're stuck with composite. Frustratingly, modern TVs won't even read CC via the better-looking component video inputs (red/green/blue + audio)--which they should because these are analog as well).
