Question: Is it this item model number xvr5116h-s2 that has 2 sata connections Answer: This is not a video recorder that uses a large external battery. The internal battery is for saving the last file when the ignition is turned off and power is removed from the accessory socket. Some sockets, called cigarette lighter socket, have 12 vdc at all times in which case you have to remove the power plug to cease recording. If you have the motion detector setting on then whenever something shakes your car the camera will turn on and create a small file. BTW, I have one of these cameras mounted on my rear window and I leave it activated when parked in a shopping center, etc. If someone backs into my vehicle and drives off, I will have a video of the incident and a view of their tag number. Question: does this come with ios or android remote viewing software Answer: saves all, but not good device. on tempreture in sunny weather days it dont work, need restart. so dont reccoment. buy registrator up to 70$ .. all off les price is not good. i bought and checked a lot of them and have experience. Question: What is the wirless camera that works with this for an add on Answer: This is an analog DVR, not compatible with wireless cameras. It overwrites the oldest video. Also you should look at replacing the hard drive to the max it can hold so that you can have recordings in excess of 2 weeks or less. Mine came with a 1TB and the max it can hold is 3TB which will allow me to have recordings approximately up to 2 months.

I have 2 of these K6000 style cameras that came from different sellers and manufacturers. They are both great cameras. I have them set for 3 or 5 minute files and there is no gap between files because the files record 2 seconds longer. It could be that a new file starts recording 2 seconds before the current file ends. Just a guess but I merged files together and the music did not miss a note and the clock did not miss a second, however you may hear a slight "blip" in the sound at the splice.If your 12vdc power outlet is controlled by the ignition switch you can leave the camera plugged in and the camera will start recording automatically as soon as it gets power. When the power is disconnected the current file will be saved by the internal battery before the camera shuts down.
