Yes, the handle is wood. The silver bell is metal (but not super shiny) so it would accept paint, but might eventually flake off if handled too often? If holding by the wooden handle the paint should last. I would only paint the outside of the silver bell, as the little ball inside that makes it 'ring' might start to chip away at any paint on metal in the inside.

I have a 12 camera (16 channel) security system that uses BNC cables with 12v power cable like these. I bought 4 of these cables and 3 new cameras. The 4th cable is to replace a damaged cable already installed. I took 3 cables out of the package so far and only 1 works. The picture quality is so bad on the one that works I am going to replace it! There are lines and rainbows across the screen and the video flickers. Often times the video goes blank for several seconds before coming back on. When I reconnect this same camera with a cable I MADE MYSELF it works perfectly! SO, I opened up 2 more cables to test them and they don't work period! I didn't even bother to take the 4th cable out of the package. I'm sending all 4 of these back.
I don't know how AMAZON does their math on these reviews. I just glanced at the first 6 reviews and 4 of those 6 are ONE STAR!!! How do they have a 4.4 out of 5 star rating if they are getting four 1 star reviews out of every 6? Now it's going to be FIVE 1 star reviews out of 7.

I only needed about 5 ft of extension cables for three of my cameras so instead of going to my local hardware store (50ft cost about 30 bucks) I bought them on amazon to save money. Well I regret it the picture quality is decent but only after I applied aluminum tape around the BNC adapters and connectors. Prior to that I had a lot of issues with color and picture. After the application the picture improved and keeps a constant feed but now I have a rainbow line that runs across the screen. Don't buy this product I thought replacing the BNC adapter might fix the issue but it didn't. I saved some money but spent a lot of time disconnecting, reconnecting and taping the connectors. it's not worth it.

I had a problem with no video at all. I tried another roll of wire and it worked, but video quality was poor. I took apart the first cable and found that on one end the wires make a connection. One of the wires was not soldered to the the other side of connection. I had bought these before but the color was white and they worked. I now have to look for another supplier. I would send these back and try a higher quality cable.

It's not RG59. It doesn't have any RG59 stamp on the cable which could mean it doesn't meet the RG59 specs. That's a manufacturer question. It's thinner than real RG59 cable. It should work for most Surveillance Cameras using BNC connectors. I've been using it for a little while now with no problems outside on several cameras.

Every couple of years after a quasi-tsunami rolls through my town, a few of the cameras on my surveillance system will go out. I simply take my girlfriends $10 blow dryer and use it on the BNC terminals for about 30 seconds to dry out any moisture and poof - they're as good as new

Will this cable work for swann dvr and camera

I had to return the 100ft ZOSI cables that I ordered because they would not provide enough power at night for the IR camera. I ordered a pair of 20AWG x 100ft camera wire by WILDVISION from Amazon to replace the Zosi cables and they worked fine. The cable size has to carry enough current to power IR at night. The replacement wires by Wildvision worked fine on my 4K cameras but were only 100ft. long. I have not needed 150 ft. cables but they need to be heavy enough size to carry current from receiver to camera.
