A: Plugged into a wall, it takes +/- 10 hours to fully charge the internal. Short access to direct sunlight or short spurts of hand cranking (about 130-150 RPM for 3-5 mins at a time) provide sufficient power for several hours of use during an emergency. Keep in mind that our internal battery capacity is 2x-4x the size of others, so it’s not necessary to fully charge by sunlight or hand cranking. These are just emergency alternatives.

Q: Can you charge it with the hand crank or solar panel if the battery is already fully depleted? How long does the radio last after cranking for 2 mins?

A: Absolutely. In this case, the radio would last about 20 mins and flashlight about 10 mins.

A: A red light appears while charging. Also the LCD screen has a battery level indicator with 8 lines when fully charged.

Answer:	According to reviews, its is rated IPx4 water resistant, IPx4 is water resistance to rain including driving rain from all directions + short-duration (generally means accidental) up to 5 minute full submerging to depth of less than 3 feet. IPv5 and 6 allow prolonged submersion at greater depths (greater depth = more pressure at seals) & withstanding directed pressurized water spray, which this doesn't have but IPx4 is probably the highest water resistance for anything close to this price point

Answer:	Any charger that has a micro-USB should work. But please note that Eton states in the manual for the FRX5 --NOTE: The USB power source should be able to withstand a minimum constant 500 mA power output for an extended period of time to fully charge the FRX5's 2000mAh battery.There are at least two units that state they are for the FRX5. Answer:	The Midland ER 210 is not waterproof.
Question:	Does the replaceable 18650 battery have tabs? Is there any reason it could not be replaced with a 3400 mAh
Answer:	I bought the "first-generation" of the ER310 radio in March 2018; from this same page on Amazon. The battery died recently. The battery for my radio has a "pigtail" connector on the end, not a standard battery connector. The battery has been discontinued. The Midland website gives a phone number to call if you need the pigtail battery. When I called they said the battery was discontinued, and they would sell me a newer model of the radio, that doesn't require the discontinued battery, for the price of the old battery, which was $25. So I just ordered that. There's now a second-generation version of the ER-310 radio that doesn't use the "pigtail" battery. I can't tell from the photos on the Amazon page if the radio sold on this page is the "first-generation" or "second-generation" one. I would think it's probably the second generation; if it's the first-generation, I wouldn't buy it.

Answer:	Hello Brandi, the ER210 does is not programmed for S.A.M.E codes. It has 7 NOAA/NWS weather channels to choose from. • Press the BAND button to select the weather band. • Then use the TUNE buttons to select the strongest weather channel in your area. Typical broadcasts are within reception distance of 25-50 miles of the weather station. Fully extend the telescopic antenna and rotate until reception is clear. The ER210 can receive broadcasts up to 50 miles from the weather station depending on your location and conditions of weather, terrain, etc. If reception is not good, try a different location to find a spot of improved reception. If indoors, placement near a window usually improves reception. If a weather broadcast cannot be heard on any of the 7 channels, contact your local NOAA/NWS office and verify the closest station is on air. Their web site is http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/

Answer:	If it were me, I would not turn off the Thunderstorm warning, because Super Cell Thunderstorms can and do produce Tornadoes sometimes. Just my take on it.

Answer:	The unit is ABSOLUTELY wall mountable. Two channels in the back to hang on mounted screws. Alert tone volume cannot be changed. Radio alarm volume... yes.

Answer:	On the WR300, It turns off automatically FIVE MINUTES after the warning is done. So, at 2am, you have to listen to it blare if you don't want to get out of bed to push the button. I do not know about the WR400. The Reecom R-1630 has EOM, which turns the audio back to standby mute as soon as the message is done.
Question:	Does it use batteries for backup
Answer:	It has the ability to run off of batteries or the included A/C adapter. Without the A/C adapter the batteries will last about a month in the monitoring mode before becoming exhausted. It also had the ability to tune in regular radio stations in addition to the weather channels, which makes it useful in time of emergency when the power goes out (running on batteries).

Answer:	Hi Tim,To be very candid with you, with a fair amount of effort (via the hand crank *probably about 4-5 mins worth) if your cell phone were pretty much dead, you would be able to achieve enough of a charge to at least make a short call (I'm using my Samsung Galaxy Note as a reference) but if you're thinking a few quick cranks of the handle will give you a 20-30% charge, it won't. If you worked the crank for a little while, and had some time on your hands while waiting for some food to cook at a bbq, or in an emergency situation where the lights were out, the Kaito would provide some power, more so if you crank it longer, of course you would want to make sure things like blu tooth, Wi-Fi, and gps were disabled to help charge quicker & also not immediately deplete the power once you turn it on, so the short answer to your question is Yes!
