Answer:	No. It has an internal smart card if you like to name it that way. Dish receivers do not use smart cards anymore like in the past. It has an on screen smart card number which you should tell dish network to activate.

If it's dishformyrv.com that wants to collect the $90, I would bypass them and go straight to Dish Network, but be prepared to prove the purchase. Dish will probably activate the receiver for free, because they make their bucks off the monthly service fees.Dish will push, but they can be shoved back. I returned a 611 rental receiver, and Dish charged me $350 to replace it, claiming that I caused the failure. I told them where to put their monthly service fees, and they backed down and returned my money. You have to be your own consumer advocate with these people.

You could extend the lead in wire to get the dipole into a better reception location, but I doubt you want to to change the reception end. As a ham operator, I'm fairly well versed in such matter, but experiment and see what you get.

Answer:	No, the access point or bridge is a separate piece of equipment. I alread had wireless joeys that were installed by Dish, so was able to connect one of these as an add on. The install was simple.

Answer:	Mark,, never tried doing two at once. I had my wireless joey for several months. When first setting it up. I had to have the units close, maybe 35 feet line iSight, the I got serious and moved the base unit to a washer dryer room, the tv is maybe 30 feet away. With the unit for the tv over in the poarch. Better but had to run a cat fire from the wirless unitbtomthe base unit to the hopper base unit. It may go 4 minutes before reboot the unit or it coul run 4 hours. When it runs excellant. Love dish except this time
