| Answer: | Yes, this is how I hooked up the one I purchased. It took a couple of tries to get the tv to recognize that it needed to send the audio out through the speaker however. I would suggest plugging the cable in to the speaker first and then in to the tv. Our tv didn’t recognize it when I plugged the cable in to the tv first and then to the speaker. Good luck! I will say the sound quality is good for the price, but the speaker is definitely only maybe half as loud as the tv speakers in our case. The difference for us is that our tv speakers are on the back. In movie mode, we can hear the voices better through the sound bar than the tv regardless of the audio mode on the tv. |

| Answer: | Paul, not directly, there are a couple options.. if the subwoofer is powered then you need to buy a Sonos connect and plug the subwoofer into that and then pair that in your settings to your playbar the other option if your subwoofer is not powered you would have to purchase a sonos connect amp and do the same thing, I have done both of these options in my home and they work very well. The sonos connect is half the price Of the sonos sub, you could look at it that way :-) |

| Answer: | 30 years I’ve never had a product which both sounds amazing and deals with this problem, and it is a big problem with a lot of content. Everyone has their own special setting but the only ones that truly work also degrade the great sound. I don’t think electronics can solve this as well as having a sound-dampening room, because that’s what they are mastered for (curtained theatre) and most of us have reflective drywall. |

| Answer: | Yes and no. The PlayBar has only one input: fiberoptic. The Denon AVR-1612 does not include a fiberoptic output, so you cannot directly connect the receiver to the PlayBar. But your TV should have a fiberoptic output, so if you connect all the devices to the Denon via HDMI cables, then connect an HDMI cable from receiver to TV, then fiberoptic cable from TV to PlayBar, you should get sound from all sources connected to the receiver. If you do it this way, make sure that HDMI Audio Output is set to ON in the receiver set-up menu. However, connected this way, you will *NOT* get sound from the Receiver's built-in AM/FM tuner, nor will you get sound from any older devices that are connected to the receiver using analog audio/video cables (typically red/white/yellow RCA cables). There really is no advantage to using the Denon receiver in this set-up, unless your TV only has one or two HDMI inputs and you're trying to add more. But you could do that more simply (and inexpensively) with a simple HDMI switch. For simplicity, I'd recommend connecting all devices to the TV with HDMI cables, and connect the fiberoptic output of the TV to the PlayBar. This way the TV handles all source switching and whatever source is selected on the TV will play through the PlayBar. Hope that helps. |

| Answer: | It sounds pretty good without the subwoofer. We have a small room and have the playbar....two Play 3's and one play 5 and it sounds great. For our small house the subwoofer would be too much and that's saying something as my husband really likes to have some bass going. If you had a huge area to cover you might want the subwoofer. We used to have a bose system with a subwoofer and this sounds as good at that if not better. If you are really into your sound you probably will want something in addition to the playbar like the play 3's and/or play 5's. We went that route because we could move them into other rooms of the house easily. FYI - the playbar is not a petite piece so make sure you have room for it. I hope this helps! |

That means it will not work to connect to older JBL series with JBL connect +, design has changed with a bit of a sleeker look. If you own previous JBL product that use connect + and something that you think you would utilize that is one way. If this is your first product for portable speakers totally worth it so you can use the newer products together coming out. Hopefully this helps. | Answer: | I have a recording studio in my home and have been playing and engineering music recordings for 30 years. I bought these as computer monitors in my office - but I sometimes use them to proof a mix. They are nice as an "alternative" to my studio monitors. In my studio I use Mackie HR-824's, Yamaha NS-10's and a pair of Klipsch Heresies to get different "looks" at a mix. The Control 1 has weak/non existent low bass response, so it's not useful as a primary studio monitor. I also find them to be less than flat through the mid-range. So a mix that sounds good on them, can sound "midgange heavy" when you listen to it in the car or any system with a nominally boosted midrange. So I would say, they are NOT very good if you are a serious audiophile or sound engineer and you want to use them as your sole or primary monitors. Where they are good is for mixing a nice punchy bass response(80-200hZ). As a result, I use them to mix drums and bass all the time. If those instruments sound good on these speakers, they will sound GREAT on a high fidelity system. Sometimes, when you mix drums and bass on small speakers, the mix ends up being really boomy and bass heavy once you have subwoofers and full frequency playback. Not so in this case. They have a very controlled bass response. Maybe that's why they are named "control"? So, if you want another set of speakers to check a mix, or if you are doing a lot of drum and bass music, they might be OK. |

| Answer: | I have a Denon receiver. I also have the 530 speakers, and the 520 center speaker. Although I use the 530 bookshelf speakers as rear surround speakers, the 520 cbk center speaker is great. |

| Answer: | The correct comparison for Charge 3 is the Megaboom. Boom 2 is far inferior but if you compare Charge 3 against Megaboom, then Megaboom is a clear winner, well imo. Both have the same specs on paper. Megaboom's drivers are a bit bigger, it can be connected with NFC, has less charging time, has longer warranty period. Charge 3 has a microphone and thats it. If you don't have the budget for the Megaboom, then get the Charge. |
