Answer:	You of course need to have a valid amateur radio license to use this radio. Provided that you and your family member are both licensed you could use this in pdn mode or using the wires x system to a node to talk to any other node in the world.

Answer:	Carl is correct. VERY few (if any) HTs will Tx/Rx on SSB. I own this HT (and others). I have yet to find an HT which will even attempt SSB. This is a great radio. So is the Kenwood TH-D74. However, even the Kenwood (which is a tri-band radio) will not do SSB Tx - only Rx. So, the short answer to your question is, "No".

Answer:	No. This is a compact radio and comes with a rechargeable Li-ion battery pack and charge cradle. No option for using AA cells.

Answer:	The reprogramming cable does not come with the radio. You can buy one for about $25 if you need it. (I just did a Web search for “Yaesu 250 programming cable”.) 99% of all the features are accessible via the Setup menu on the radio. This is a great basic VHF backup radio for the price.

Answer:	The BOSE A20 will connect to the radio via the supplied headset adapter. Ensure that you set the mic to external on the radio, otherwise the headset microphone will not work to the radio. You will need an inline, remote PTT switch, connected via the headset adapter, and mount it on the yoke

Answer:	No. From my experience there is no connectivity with foreflight. This radio uses the Icom RS-Aero app and Bluetooth to communicate. You can plan your own routes in their app but no connectivity with anything even google or Apple Maps. Great radio but stand alone unit. Bluetooth will work with your ipad and headset though if it is equipped. Nice for back up without fumbling for cords but you do need to turn on Bluetooth from the radio.

Answer:	The longest Popcat meme recording I could find was only a ten hour loop. So obviously I’ve had to constantly hit repeat on it. Still looking for a 72 hour version. Answer:	While you can leave it plugged in all the time, the question comes down more to the type of battery and whether you are shortening the life of the battery by doing so. I don’t personally know about this partidevice, but if you learn whether the battery is li-on, ni-mh, etc, then research that particular battery technology.
