10 best connex cb radio

Connex CB radios are a type of Citizens Band (CB) two-way radio commonly used for communication on the CB radio band. These radios are popular among truck drivers, off-road enthusiasts, and other individuals who need reliable long-range communication in various settings. Connex is a well-known brand that produces CB radios known for their durability and features. Here are some key aspects of Connex CB radios:

  1. CB Radio Band: Connex CB radios operate within the Citizens Band (CB) radio frequency range, which is a range of 40 channels in the 27 MHz band. These radios are primarily used for short to medium-range communication.

  2. Channel Selection: CB radios like Connex typically offer 40 channels, and users can select the channel they want to communicate on. Channels 9 and 19 are often used for emergency and highway information, respectively.

  3. Power Output: Connex CB radios are known for their high power output capabilities. They typically have adjustable power settings, allowing users to switch between low and high power modes. Higher power output can result in longer communication range.

  4. Modes of Operation: Connex CB radios generally support both AM (Amplitude Modulation) and SSB (Single Sideband) modes. SSB provides better long-range communication capabilities and is favored by some CB radio users.

  5. Frequency Display: Many Connex CB radios come with a built-in frequency display, which allows users to see the exact frequency they are tuned to, making it easier to communicate on specific channels.

  6. Features: Connex CB radios often include features such as noise filters, automatic noise limiters (ANL), and RF gain controls to enhance audio quality and reduce interference. Some models may also have built-in SWR meters for tuning antennas.

  7. External Speaker and Microphone: Connex CB radios typically come with an external speaker and a microphone for hands-free communication. The microphone often includes a push-to-talk (PTT) button for transmitting messages.

  8. Antenna Compatibility: The performance of a CB radio can be greatly influenced by the type and quality of the antenna used. Connex radios are compatible with a wide range of CB antennas, including whip antennas and fiberglass antennas.

  9. Durability: Connex CB radios are designed to withstand the rigors of outdoor and mobile use. They often feature rugged construction and may be housed in metal enclosures for added durability.

  10. Legal Considerations: Users of CB radios, including Connex models, should be aware of legal regulations governing CB radio usage in their region.CB radio operation is subject to certain power limits and licensing requirements in some countries.

Connex CB radios are favored by many CB radio enthusiasts and professionals for their performance and durability. When choosing a Connex CB radio, users should consider their specific communication needs, including the intended range, features, and power output, to select the model that best suits their requirements.

User questions & answers

Question: Can you convert it before sending it
Answer: No, that would violate federal law. Also, converting it makes it "used" (not what the factory put in the box) by marketplace standards. Plus, it would be false advertising to offer a 10 meter radio and ship an 11 meter radio instead. Thanks for asking!
Question: Can you turn off the roger beep
Answer: Yes u can turn it on or off
Question: Does this fit in the overhead compartment of KW T
Answer: If you can get a cobra 148 or a galaxy in there it will fit. It is bigger than a cobra 29 ltd.
Question: What does it cost to have it converted to a cb
Answer: That depends on the shop. We highly recommend Circuit Master CB in Altoona, IA. They used to do all the warranty work for Connex, so they know these radios really well. They won't "peak" it (meaning set it to overdrive the output so you get distortion and shortened life), but will properly adjust it to maximize your radio user experience.

User questions & answers

Question: Does it have a wall power plug
Answer: Hello Jim,Yes you would need a base mount. You can either get K400S/K400C or a HD-5M.Thank You!
Question: How quiet is this unit
Answer: I use it on my Subaru hood with a yaesu atas-120 screwdriver antenna and it works fine. I've never had an issue with it. Awesome mount
Question: Is this unit quiet? How much noise does the fan make
Answer: The mount basically comes with RG-58 coax. The first 18 inches of coax coming from the trunk mount is the thin RG-188, which makes mounting on your trunk easier. Then it turns into 16 feet of RG-58U with a PL259 connector on the end.
Question: Will it fit under a rci 2970n
Answer: I believe the Firestik uses a 3/8"-24 thread for mounting. The Comet CP-5M uses the PL-259 mount. There are adapters available but I could not find one here on Amazon.

Question: Does it come with everything to install? And can I install to my battery
Answer: It includes the microphone, power cable and mounting bracket. You will need an Optional suitable CB antenna. You may need to lengthen the power cord if going directly to the battery.
Question: What is the best antenna for this radio
Answer: For any CB radio, the tallest antenna you are comfortable with, mounted as high as possible on the vehicle, will perform best.
Question: What is the wattage output
Answer: It puts out about 4 watts. I think it gets out better than the other brand radios even after they have been “tuned”.
Question: why did it blow its fuse only had a bigger size i put in and works
Answer: It can happen if your 12v source had a power surge or if you accidentally crossed polarity. It's better to use recommended fuse size to avoid damaging your radio.

User questions & answers

Question: what is the actual dimesions of this radio
Answer: You don't 'sync' this product. You convert your playlist into a .m3u file and then drag and drop the .m3u and the audio you want added to the device. http://static.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/103755.pdf If you begin on page 14 of the manual it explains it in detail. The worst part of this is that you need to have the files you want in the same folder, and moving them can be tedious if you have a large audio library. If you do some searching, there are programs that will help you do this much faster. So I wouldn't say that it "doesn't sync" so much as you have to "manually sync" by dragging and dropping.
Question: looking around for cb and ust wondering if this will pick up high band and low band the radio i have has a switch for high and low
Answer: I'm not sure, but I can describe the setup. There are two main navigation buttons - the main center button and the back button, which are also the only ones that are raised. The screen that shows the category (music, radio, settings, books, sport) also shows a navigation arrow on either side to indicate that you can hit the right and left arrows to move through the categories. The back button switches between the active screen and the category screen. Within a category, you can only navigate with the up and down arrows to choose a subcategory (artists, albums, songs) or an actual song/file to play, and you choose that by hitting the main central button. There are no onscreen indicators that you should move up and down, and if you go side to side instead you don't necessarily end up back right where you started. The central button is also the on/off switch if you hold it down for a few seconds. Worst case, randomly hitting the two main buttons generally eventually takes you wherever you want to go.So yes, it's fairly simple because there aren't a lot of choices, which means that if you get totally lost, you can just keep hitting the same couple of buttons and can eventually move around. But it can also be a little frustrating if you get caught in a category-song screen loop (if you keep hitting the same button over and over), or if you navigate right-left when you should be going up-down and end up in a different screen. The other "catch" is that the back button also functions as a lock if you hold it down a few seconds. Then a padlock appears on the screen, and then navigation is impossible (it's there to keep the song from stopping or switching if you accidentally bump the unit against anything, which is easy to do because it's a sensitive button). To unlock, you have to hit the back button, then hold it again for a few seconds. It tells you how to do so on screen ("press and hold back to unlock"), but I find it always takes me a couple of attempts to get the unlock to "take" and actually unlock it. Another issue is physical ease of use. The entire unit is SMALL. The entire unit is 2 1/4 inches tall, and the screen is 1 inch square. I can cover the entire navigation area with my thumb. So if dexterity or arthritis is an issue, the person might be better off with a larger player like the Fuze+. However, it does have the two raised buttons and the other arrows are arranged around it, so you can control it by feel more easily than on something like a full touchscreen or the Fuze+ (that is all a solid smooth surface). The text onscreen is sans serif and a thin weight, which makes it easier to read, but the size is about the same as the small text on a nutrition label on a loaf of bread, and can't be enlarged. The other issue is loading music onto it. In one sense, it's very easy. You plug it into your computer, open the folder, and click and drag music you want over to its folder. However, you can NOT make playlists. The only way to do playlists is complicated and involves reorganizing your music on your actual computer, converting it to a different format in WMP, and then loading it in, and I have never had that work right. An ipod is much easier from that aspect, since you plug it in and it automatically updates/refreshes/syncs anything you have. Podcasts take me about 15 minutes to update every week, because I have to update them in MediaMonkey, then manually transfer each new episode to the Sansa, then find them because they're mixed in with songs. If listening to podcasts is a priority, or having playlists is a priority, I would NOT get this player. But if you just want to listen to music, and want to listen to it per album, it is fine and easy to use that way.
Question: Does this come with mounting bracket
Answer: I have not tried it but 32GB should not be an issue since it was already accepted in the clip zip. Unless their firmware really cockup. Better to read the reviews if anyone is complaining about this.
Question: Properly set up what sort of range , in miles, could i expect .? in usb or lsb
Answer: The amount of memory you can add is not the most relevant answer, it would seem. After purchasing I have discovered that the device is limited to reading 2000 files on the SD card. Figuring an average of 5 Mb / song, 10 Gb is about the most I can actually utilize, unfortunately. If I had known this before buying I would have purchased a different device.
Question: What will cause this mic to make your radio not revive hook it up straight out the box and it’s like it’s staying keyed up
Answer: Yes it does. You can even turn it sideways and use it as a stand.
Question: Does this microphone 4-pin has a elbow-shaped connector
Answer: I find that wiping it down with a tiny bit of dishsoap on damp sponge does the trick.
Question: Is is metal or just chrome plated plastic
Answer: Hi. Just work for ipad air first generation
Question: Will this match my Galaxy 48T
Answer: Yes the belt clip comes off
Question: what is the warranty
Answer: Sorry I’m not sure but I do like the product
Question: Is this the international version of the R6 Pro
Answer: No second piece all one piece. I think they are showing front and back of the case
Question: On this site there are 3 different R5s and I can't tell the differences. Would someone please educate me
Answer: It is NOT come with a screen protector as the upper edge provide 3mm higher to protector the screen. Actually, the case is only fit for iPod touch 5/6th, NOT fit for an iPhone 6/6S.
Question: Does this support tidal offline listening? Thanks
Answer: It is possible that a Popsocket would stick to the case, it seems to be somewhat like a rubber type of case so that could be a concern. Sorry don't have definitive answer but the cost to find out is not too much.. :-)
