Answer:	I am a maritime pilot and I have used it on board a vessel. It's function is good and reliable at sea. I think the scope of this portable radio is about 10 miles.

Answer:	It measures pressure altitude, not density altitude. There is a slight difference. Pressure altitude is based on pressure and temperature. Density altitude is a function of pressure, temperature and humidity.

Answer:	feet, it is all metric or all standard measurements.

Answer:	Used it for an ocean navigational training expedition back in May 2014. Determined the anemometer, thermometer, etc. were accurate. But what we didn't do is try it 6 times a day in snow and rain for a month, drop it on deck, and shove it in a wet pocket between times. So I don't have positive data as to its ruggedness.

Answer:	Yes, its scans through all 40 channels in about 4 seconds, then continues to scan repeatedly. It will stop when channels recieve anything. Including electronic noise from your trucks locks engaging and disengaging. Not all the time. It just happens every now and then. Love this radio.
