User questions & answers

Question: Can I plug this turntable into powered speakers and have sound or do I need a receiver
Answer: You can use it in both ways.
Question: I have always owned belt drive turntables. I have read that direct drive can be noisy. How is this one as far as rumble
Answer: My previous turntable was a very nice AR belt drive table, and I had the same concern about direct drive rumble. Not any more. The AT-LP120XUSB is dead silent. It sounds incredible.
Question: So, since this turntable has a built in preamp, does this mean I can use passive speakers? Or do I need powered speakers
Answer: No. You'll need powered speakers or you'll need to plug it into an amp to use passive speakers. "Preamp" = pre (before) amplifier. Preamps and phono amps take the very low signal from the stylus and amplify it to a level that an amplifier can use. AND (the reason record players need phono-specific preamps instead of a standard preamp) the preamp/phonoamp also decodes the RIAA format that all albums since the 1950s use, which is proprietary and needs a specific type of decoding to play the music.
Question: Ok,..in plain english,...can i plug this tt into external speakers? that's all i want it for. if yes,...what type of speakers
Answer: Yes you can... The turntable has a built-in preamp. You want to buy powered speakers. They sell tons of them now. The best I have heard were KRK powered speakers. To get a good idea of what’s available, check out the needledoctor or crutchfield websites.

Stanton History

Founded in 1946 by Walter Stanton (Walter O. Stanton) the inventor of an easily replaceable phonograph stylus, which helped create a consumer market for audio equipment, Stanton Magnetics was one of the first American companies to make and sell magnetic cartridges. Stanton’s slide-in stylus made it possible for users to replace the needle assembly when it wore out instead of having to send it back to the factory. Audiophiles snapped them up for home use and the invention became one of the basics in phonograph cartridge design.

The company’s product range includes turntables, high-performance cartridges, CD players, DJ mixers, accessories and the innovative SC System Controller products. With over 50 years of innovation, Stanton is the name DJ’s trust.

These dust covers are an ideal way to protect your decks against dust, spills, and grime. The fabric design acts as a filter to trap dust and dirt before it can ever reach your gear, providing protection that will likely prolong its playing life since dust and other debris are one of the biggest causes of equipment failure.

Unlike other covers, we don’t use cotton twill fabrics which allow dust particles to fall in-between the woven fibers, and we don’t use translucent vinyl that will discolor, dry out, and melt when exposed to heat or light.

User questions & answers

Question: Trying to find a dust cover for technics turntable model sl-bd27...any suggestions
Answer: No, it's a exercise bra. For use at the gym, under your workout top. Or, for everyday use. Comfortable, no wires, or hooks.
Question: Will this cover fit an audio technica at-lp120-usb turntable
Answer: Order 2 sizes larger, it runs really small
Question: Will this actually scratch the acrylic cover as some other reviewers have stated
Answer: I have been buying these bras for 10 years or more, love them! I wear a 3x which is a hard size to find. I would guess you could start with the 4x ? I wear a 44dd and a 3x fits alittle snug, but I like it that way. Try ordering just one to start to see how it feels. They are also wonderful with their customer service for exchanges and such.
Question: Does this fit over the turntable's plastic dust cover or does it need to be removed to use this
Answer: Any bra that's compression will give you that look. Look for encapsulation if you need them defined.

What harm can a little dust do?

By the time you see that fine layer of dust on top of your turntable, you can be certain at least 3 times that amount of dust has been sucked in thru the vents and holes outside, settling into its internal components that are used to run it. While you can wipe that dust on top away, the dust inside just keeps building up in a thickening layer and sticking to the electronics inside by static charge. As it builds, it will definitely become dangerous -- causing your turntable to run at high temperatures, and by then, the damage will be done. Overheating is the actual "cause of death" in most electronics.

In addition, dust accumulation is very damaging for the sound of turntables; the last thing you want is for a lot of dust to collect in your slipmat, cartridge, or stylus, then making its way onto to your records while playing.

What can I do to extend the life of my turntable?

Prevent dust buildup from becoming a problem. The easiest and best way to ensure the integrity of your valuable turntable is by using a high quality dust cover.

Crosley C6 2-Speed Turntable, Vinyl Turntable w/ Built-in Pre-Amp & Adjustable Tone Arm - Walnut

Crosley

Based on 235 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The Crosley C6 is a fully manual two-speed turntable created to give music fans a true analog experience. An audio-grade MDF plinth is wrapped in veneer to suit your style, and since weight helps keep vibration at bay, a heavy steel platter provides a solid seat for your vinyl during play. Housed underneath the platter, a low vibration synchronous motor connected via belt spins records at both 33 1/3 and 45 RPMs - simply move the belt from one groove to another to change speeds. Dial in the tracking force with the adjustable tonearm counterweight and then use the cueing lever to gently drop the needle on the record to fill the room with the warm sound of vinyl. The C6 comes with a moving magnet cartridge preinstalled, but uses a standard mount so you can upgrade as your vinyl collection grows. Connect speakers or your receiver to the RCA outputs on the back, flip on the built-in preamp (or use your own) and you're ready to jam. (Compatible with NP5 replacement needle.)

  • CLEARER SOUND: This turntable uses audio grade MDF plinth & a low vibration motor to create a clearer sound.

Audio-Technica

Based on 4 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Whether you’re just getting into records, rediscovering a record collection long since buried away or simply adding a turntable to complete your system, the AT-LP60X fully automatic belt-drive turntable is an excellent choice. This affordable, easy-to-use turntable plays both 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records and, with its built-in switchable phonon preamp, can be connected directly to your home stereo, powered speakers, computer and other components, whether they have a dedicated phonon input or not. An update of the popular AT-LP60, the ATLP60X features a redesigned tone arm base and head shell to improve tracking and reduce resonance. Noise is further reduced by the inclusion of an AC adapter that moves the AC/DC conVersion outside of the chassis where its impact on the signal chain is limited. Audio-Technical has been a leader in phonon cartridge design for more than 50 years, and that expertise shows in the AT-LP60X’s Dual Magnet cartridge with replaceable stylus. The cartridge is integrated into the head shell for assured performance and ease of setup. The turntable comes with a detachable RCA output cable (3. 5 mm male to dual RCA male), 45 RPM adapter, and a removable hinged dust cover. It is available in black (AT-LP60X-BK), brown/black (AT-LP60X-BW), gunmetal/black (AT-LP60X-GM), and red/black (AT-LP60X-RD).

User questions & answers

Question: Does this turntable need speakers to play the record
Answer: Yes. Needs an amp and speakers.
Question: What are the differences between this at-lp60x and the regular at-lp60? this one https://www.amazon.com/audio-technica-at-lp60-automatic-belt-drive-tu
Answer: Lp60x is the newer model.. there are some aesthetic changes, DC conversation happens in the plug now, the o/p is a 3.5mm aux jack with a aux to rca cable(instead od the other way around in 60) that's what I found when I was researching on it. There might be some internal changes too
Question: Do you needle for this product
Answer: The need comes with the product. I bought this as a gift for my mother.
Question: What does ‘fully automatic’ mean exactly
Answer: A fully automatic turntable will queue and play the record itself with the push of one button as well as return the tonearm on it's own once the record is finished playing.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this turntable have built in speakers, or must you have external speakers? could i play it through an ultimate ears boom 3 bluetooth speaker
Answer: For better sound, external speakers are recommended.I bought 2 speakers last month, the sound quality I think is really good , clear and smooth .you can get my speakershere:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XTDNGZW?ref=myi_title_dp
Question: What’s the difference lp60xbt-bk and the lp60bk-bt
Answer: The "X" line is the newest line of Audio-Technica turntables. The LP60X is an update of the popular AT-LP60, the ATLP60X features a redesigned tonearm base and headshell to improve tracking and reduce resonance. Noise is further reduced by the inclusion of an AC adapter that moves the AC/DC conversion outside of the chassis where its impact on the signal chain is limited.
Question: Weight of needle on record? One oz or does it kill records
Answer: I don't know the weight of the needle, but this record player killed my 3 records, rubbish
Question: Does the arm/needle damage the vinyls in such a way as the cheap $50 briefcase style vinyls players? Can I upgrade if need be
Answer: All turntables degrade the performance of vinyl media. The better the counterbalance of the weight of the tonearm, the slower the degradation. The direct contact between the stylus and the grooves in the disk is abrasive. A heavy tonearm is like 100 grit sandpaper and a light tonearm is like 600 grit. I transfer all my LPs to tape and CD. Most of my LPs have only been played two or three times in decades. Limited use and proper storage keeps my collection pristine.
