Recording is possible not only between CDs but from externally connected analog sources too. Denon stands by the components sound quality, and it even offers processing for HDCD (High-Definition Compatible Digital), an encode/decode process that ekes slightly better sound out of standard CDs (check the backs for your discs for the HDCD logo). The recorder will also copy HDCD-encoded CDs at full resolution.

Denon has endowed the CDR-W1500 with separate outputs, labeled "CDP" for the playback drive and "CDR" for the record drive. By routing these outputs to separate amplifiers (with a choice of analog or digital transmission for each drive), you can listen to each independently to hear different source material in different rooms. The CDR-W1500 offers the convenient "scan rec dubbing" function, which lets you scan for the tracks you want before you record them.

There are 2 record modes: digital and analog. Digital recording lets you make perfect copies of discs or parts of discs. The simplest method is internal dubbing, from drive 1 to drive 2, at either 1x (normal) or 2x speed. Alternately, you can feed your CDR-W1500 from an external device--a minidisc player/recorder, a DVD player, or another CD player, for instance--through an optical or coaxial digital-audio input. You can copy a whole disc or merely one track.

With analog recording, simply feed the recorder an audio output (stereo RCA) from a cassette deck, VCR, PC, or DVD player, and start recording. You can set track IDs manually or the recorder will insert them every time you pause or every time it sees "black" (no signal) from the input.

Onboard Serial Copy Management System (SCMS) prevents you from making a digital copy of a disc that is already a digital copy, but you may still make an "analog" copy of such a disc by recording it via the analog audio inputs (the track IDs may not be quite as accurate this way, but at least you can record it). Stellar features include internal relay play (drive 1 to drive 2), random play between drives, track programming, and sample-rate conversion for use with sources such as DAT (digital audio tape) and DSS (digital satellite system) having sample rates ranging from 32 to 48 kHz. The recorder's display offers compatibility with English-language CD Text information, and you can also add text to the discs you create.

The player also offers decoding for discs encoded with HDCD (High-Definition Compatible Digital), a 20-bit process used on many commercial CDs to deliver better sound than is possible through standard CDs. Answer:	I was wondering too! The one I am replacing was bought from Amazon Jan. 2015. It stated Poland on the Glass, but nothing on the plastic. Now they all seem to state Portugal on the glass portion. I like the BODUM embossed plastic frame, but it is an older model with the flat top and D handle. Even Bodum does updates.

Answer:	I had the other Brazil version. I was able to remove the beaker. VERY CAREFUL, it is in there tight. SOAP and warm water, you should get some movement from it. I wouldn't recommend removing the beaker unless you really have to clean it. If you don't feel comfortable removing the beaker, then I wouldn't.

Recording with this player using the USB port is for compressed music files only!So MP3s that are compressed will still sound even more compressed. I bought this for the Burr-Brown DACand a Onkyo 7030 for the Wolfson DAC!Using the add on features may be useful to some but it's really a waste IMO seeing how you lose so much Dynamic Range. Your knocking it down to vinyl standards with a good phono stage like the Carver C-1 preamp has built into it.Using this CD player with even a top of the line receiver will be nothing like using it with separate components. Using a good quality preamp and amp will allow you to get the best possible sound out of a stand alone CD player. I would also state that the Onkyo 7030 is a step up in sound quality over this CD player. I only bought the TEAC for it's Burr-Brown DAC and the fact that it will act as a back up CD player on my C-1's AUX 2 input!It's not a bad player, however, a + or - 2 DB frequency response is rather bad. The Onkyo is + or - .25 DB in comparison. Although I will admit that most people can't hear the difference.The Onkyo 7030 was my first Onkyo purchase and at a 11.7LB weight it's the best CD player on the market for under $400 easily! This Teac is the second best sub $400 player you can buy! People that claim they can actually hear the difference between CD players are usually kidding themselves and unless they are using separate components with a very good preamp and amp you simply can't hear the difference! They can claim all day long that they can, the truth is it's a ego thing! If you actually perform A/B testing between several different players you can see for yourself how true this actually is!I have friends that are very good guitarists and they have a good sense of sound in general. None of them can hear the difference as long as the output volume is the same. I always just suggest that you do the A/B testing yourself with a couple of friends and then you will understand what I have known for many years! People claim all sorts odd things. Such as hearing the difference between two similar turntables, hearing the difference between 14 gauge copper speaker wire and 10 gauge copper speaker wire. This is a joke as if you actually do A/B testing on your own you will see how full of cra* these people really are!!

Answer:	You’ll have to make sure the input sound signal is surround (Like a 5.1) and not just a stereo signal (two channel). Try testing it out with a DVD or Blu-Ray, or even a streaming service that has the 5.1 like Netflix. You’ve already verified that they are all working with the test setup so the input signal is my best guess.

Answer:	Not by USB. You can run a line from the turntable to a mic jack on a computer running something like Audacity, tho.

Answer:	There is a phono preamp switch under the platter that may need to be switched off. The powered speakers may have an input labeled "phono" which already has a preamp. You can either run it to a line input on the speakers with the phono switch on the turntable turned on or you can turn it off and run it with the phono preamp on the speakers. Only use 1 preamp! By running through 2 you are overloading the signal.

Now's the time to put your vinyl records back into your listening rotation. The DP-29F includes a built-in RIAA phono equalizer to hook it up to your system through a standard analog connection.

The DP-29F has been precision manufactured with rigid diecast aluminum to produce uniform inertial mass for perfectly stable turntable rotation, an essential component of high fidelity sound during playback. The turntable employs an automated system that starts playing the record with the single touch of a button and finishes play at the end of the record by returning the tone arm to its original position and stopping turntable rotation.
