User questions & answers

Question: Will klipsch rp-500sa dolby atmos surround sound speakers work with this speaker in a surround sound room
Answer: There really isn't much difference between those and RP-140SA besides the switch which changes then from Atmos to surround. Honestly I used the 140SA ones on top on these towers for a year. Someone later suggested mounting them above my tv facing the seated position and the Atmos is experience is much better. Enjoy
Question: Can the base be removed and the speaker secured to a platform via spiked screws
Answer: Offhand, I'm pretty sure the base cannot be taken off (at least not without doing some damage). I know it does have the holes to screw in the carpet spikes, though, so would assume it can't be removed to make it more stable.
Question: Are these speakers meant primarily for HT, as opposed to speakers meant for stereo audio
Answer: They sound fantastic for stereo!
Question: If I buy these, Do I even need a subwoofer
Answer: Need? No, however, I just purchased these speakers a month or so ago, I got it for music 2.0 listening mainly. I loved the bass! So you would be okay without SW. Then, I got curious and purchased this Klipsch sub https://amzn.to/2SAh0wZ since then, I have not turned it off! It is just much nicer with certain type of music. Especially Jazz, R&B, some heavy metal, and classical music. If you mainly listen to pop, you may not gain much but for $250 a good sub is nice to have. Also depends on pop, haven’t played yet but I’m planning to listen some Michael Jackson classics on these speakers with and without the subwoofer. Need? No. Recommend? Sure!

User questions & answers

Question: Are these 3- way
Answer: No they have a 6 1/2" mid-range/woofer and a tweeter. There is a tuned port in the rear. I think 3-way speakers are becoming less common with the newer more responsive mid range speakers like these have.
Question: What kind of plug ins will i need in back
Answer: Standard speaker wiring. Plain exposed wire using screw lugs or banana plugs will work.
Question: What is the width and depth
Answer: Product HeightInfo 37 inches Product WidthInfo 9.4 inches Product DepthInfo 15.1 inches
Question: Can anyone give me an honest, experience-based opinion on how these compare with the polk monitor 60?. I'm torn between the two
Answer: It's all a matter of tastes. I've owned Polk speakers. In this situation, I'm sure you'll get more mid range with the Polk's because you'll have more speakers, if that's your thing. I prefer the Klipsch because they are crisper, cleaner, a bit more live like sounding. The Polk's are a bit more subdued, a bit more even sounding. The Klipsch have plenty of bass and plenty of horn, which is where that "live" sound comes from. They are also a bit more efficient. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. FYI..........I have my speakers hooked up to an older Sony receiver with 80 watts pc. Music is all that I use them for. No experience with home theater.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the height without the feet
Answer: 42 inches
Question: Will these work with the Klipsch wireless sub set up? Has anyone listened without sub is a sub really needed
Answer: Adding a subwoofer would depend on preference or maybe how large your room is. In most cases you would not need a subwoofer, but if you do you can use this with a Klipsch wireless subwoofer set.
Question: Why do I have to unplug and plug back in for optical pin to work each time unit has been cut off
Answer: I use the optical connection from my older visio ec70 TV and never have an issue. Could be defective or an issue with whatever you are connecting your speakers to. Try a different connection to see if that has same effect.
Question: Should I buy a subwoofer or do these speakers come with enough bass that you don't need one? I will be using these speakers for a home theater
Answer: You can always add one later. I’m currently not using one. I live in a condo and the bass is plenty for my setup. Position of the speakers plays a part too. I have hooked up a powered 10” sub and that did sound great - it’s just too much bass for my small place.

User questions & answers

Question: I have a new Sony 2 channel 100 watt receiver. Will this be enough to efficiently run these speakers
Answer: These speakers, while they only look like a pair of floorstanding speakers, are actually 2 speakers built into one. You will have the tower speaker, AND a Dolby Atmos topper built into that tower speaker facing upward as well. However, you will need to run separate channels to both the top speaker, and the tower. This will require 4 channels in order to fully connect both of the R-26FA. That receiver will not work.
Question: What is the resistance (ohm) rating for the front woofers
Answer: 8ohms
Question: Hi, do you have the packing dimensions? Not the product dimensions Thank you
Answer: 44” - H 12 3/4” - W 21 1/2” - D Hope that helps
Question: How long of a warranty on these speakers
Answer: The passive speaker warranty policy can be found here at www.klipsch.com/warranty-passive-speakers.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this sold as a set or is the price for each speaker
Answer: Depending on your receivers settings, you can connect them through the rear surround speaker channels or the height speaker channel and change the settings in your receiver to make them either height speakers (as these ones are) or in ceiling speakers. Works great on my Onkyo TX - NR656
Question: I have the rp 500c and i’m looking to upgrade my front polk lsi400 towers to these. i’m assuming the rp5000f would pair better than the rp6000f? thank
Answer: I know very little about the Yamaha, but the Denon in my opinion would be the better choice since it has ATMOS processing. The upward firing speaker within the R-625FA, when run through the calibration routine, will be used accordingly. I am using a Denon AVR-X4500H and it rocks. IF the Yamaha has the ATMOS process I don't see why not, also too, you could potentially using it without ATMOS assuming that there is a multichannel setup guide for say 7.2, to get you a 5.2.1 (or 5.4.1 or in my case 5.4.2).
Question: Is this sold as a pair for
Answer: There are two posts because there is effectively two seperate speakers in the box. One post is for the front firing. Other post is for the up firing atmos speaker on top. You don’t have to connect the atmos speaker.
Question: Do these come with cables? If not, what type are recommended
Answer: I own these speakers from another seller, mine would not accept banana clips (the posts are too small) but that could just be for the R-626-FA or perhaps the adaptors changed. The bare wire posts were fairly straightforward.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the recommended speaker wire for these
Answer: sold as a set , best out there !
Question: Is this a 6 ohm speaker
Answer: Thanks for your question. Either the RP-5000F or RP-6000F would pair very well with the RP-500C center channel. The front main speakers are the most important in your system. The 6000 will have better bass and midbass and will be well worth the additional cost. It will also blend better with a Klipsch subwoofer when you decide to upgrade again. World Wide Stereo is 41 years old and a proud authorized Klipsch dealer.
Question: How many watts is this speaker
Answer: Each.
Question: I question the highth number in the describtion
Answer: Thanks very much for your question. The Klipsch RP-5000F do not include speaker cables. We recommend a high strand count oxygen free copper conductor. We carry AudioQuest and SVS speaker cables available in pre terminated lengths, with banana plugs or gold lugs. Use 16 gauge or thicker wires. Avoid spools of inexpensive speaker wire sold by home centers. World Wide Stereo is 40 years old and a proud authorized Klipsch dealer.

Question: Has anyone compared this to the R25c or RP
Answer: The R25c has a max wattage of 120 watts compared to the R52 c being able to take about 400 watts,so must be a difference in magnets or something..
Question: Just checking on how to read dimensions of this speaker. are dimensions of this speaker 7.6 h x 18.8 w x 7.3 d
Answer: I just measured my cabinet, including the front cover: 7.6 deep 18.9 wide 7.3 high

User questions & answers

Question: Is this offer for single or pair speakers
Answer: Pair
Question: Are they "power speakers?" As in, could they be connected to a record player without a reciever
Answer: The R-14M is a passive speaker that requires a receiver or amp to power it.
Question: Would these be good for near field studio monitors or not neutral enough
Answer: As far as studio monitors, you are correct, they are not completely neutral. They are very efficent speakers however and far exceed the power ratings Klipsch specifies. Their ideal situation is really for home theather rear or side channel surround sound as effects channels. They also make a very powerful, high-fi bookshelf companion for a mini system. I am currently using them in a 7.2 Atoms setup and they knock it out of the park. If you are truely looking for 1-1 studio monitors, Yahmaha is they way to go but have your checkbook ready. ;)
Question: What's the battery for
Answer: I believe that's an error in the description. These are passive, wired speakers. I have a pair...they're excellent speakers for the price.
