13 best vocal speakers
Vocal speakers, also known as floorstanding speakers, are a type of audio speaker designed for use in home audio systems. These speakers are typically larger and more powerful than bookshelf or satellite speakers, making them a popular choice for audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts. Here's what you should know about vocal speakers:
Design: Floorstanding speakers are large, tall, and usually rectangular in shape. They are designed to stand on the floor, hence the name "floorstanding." Their size allows them to house multiple speaker drivers, which can result in a wide frequency range and enhanced audio performance.
Speaker Drivers: Vocal speakers typically incorporate multiple speaker drivers, including woofers, midrange drivers, and tweeters. The combination of these drivers is known as a speaker's "driver configuration." Each driver is responsible for reproducing a specific range of frequencies: woofers handle low frequencies (bass), midrange drivers cover mid-range frequencies, and tweeters handle high frequencies (treble).
Frequency Response: One of the advantages of floorstanding speakers is their ability to produce a wide frequency range. This allows them to reproduce deep bass notes, clear midrange frequencies, and crisp high frequencies, providing a full and immersive sound experience.
Power Handling: Floorstanding speakers are typically capable of handling higher power levels compared to smaller speakers. This means they can play louder without distortion when connected to a powerful amplifier or AV receiver.
Placement: Proper placement is essential for optimal performance. Floorstanding speakers are best positioned away from walls and corners to allow for better sound dispersion and imaging. They are often used as the main left and right speakers in a home theater or stereo setup.
Stereo and Home Theater: Vocal speakers are commonly used in stereo setups for listening to music, offering a spacious soundstage and impressive audio quality. They are also a crucial component in home theater systems, serving as the front left and right speakers to deliver cinematic audio experiences.
Enclosure Types: Floorstanding speakers come in various enclosure designs, including bass-reflex (ported), acoustic suspension (sealed), and hybrid configurations. Each type has its own characteristics, affecting the speaker's bass response and overall sound.
Brand and Model Variations: Many reputable audio brands offer floorstanding speakers with a wide range of specifications, designs, and price points. Choosing the right one depends on your budget, room size, and audio preferences.
Bi-Wiring and Bi-Amping: Some floorstanding speakers offer the option for bi-wiring or bi-amping, which involves using separate amplification for different speaker drivers. This can potentially improve sound quality and flexibility in system setup.
In summary, vocal speakers, or floorstanding speakers, are a popular choice for home audio enthusiasts seeking high-quality sound reproduction across a wide frequency range. Their large size and multiple driver configurations make them well-suited for both stereo music listening and as part of home theater systems, delivering immersive audio experiences in various entertainment settings.

User questions & answers
Question: | Will it work with a roland td1kv v-drum compact electronic drum kit |
Answer: | Yes... But for a Drum Set... The ideal situation is to use it with a Subwoofer like the PowerWerks PW112S 200 Watt Subwoofer. It has a Subwoofer Out and automaticallly filters out the low end and sends those signals to the Subwoofer when one is plugged in. I have a Roland TD25K. It sounds great in my living room all by itself but I would want to use a Subwoofer if I played in a club to get the extra thump from the bass. The Subwoofer is overkill at home. |
Question: | Would I be able to hook up my Drum Machine to this, specifically the Alesis SR |
Question: | Is there two speakers in a package or just one |
Answer: | Just one. They usually run between $90-$115 depending on where you buy them. They are super loud for the price. There is not much on the low end but we use these for our entertainment business. |
Question: | I want to buy an amplifier for my digital piano, but I don't have money for a big one. Can this replace the amp so I can play in gigs |
Answer: | This can be a tricky answer. "CAN" this replace the amp.....yes! "Should" it replace an amp....NO! If your digital piano is 73 to 88 key instrument...it should produce a wide tonal range of notes. The PW50 will not give you the quality required for a nice piano sound. It will play loud but small speakers can not reproduce the lower tones with accuracy. You would be better served with a full range keyboard amp. I would not recommend anything less than a 12" woofer with a horn or tweeter.Hope this helped. Might find one in a pawn shop. Note: you can still try this unit and if you don't like it...send it back! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you daisy chain multiple monitors together |
Answer: | This is a small speaker suitable for monitor type work. So if you are using it as a quiet practice amp for the keyboard it would work OK. If you are using it as a monitor in a band situation it might not be loud enough - though would work in a more solo or acoustic type situation. Also the speaker breaks up at low frequency at loud volumes so it is not necessarily suited for loud band situations. |
Question: | Would it be suitable to use for my Kawai ES8 digital piano |
Answer: | it has a input jack that is compatible with your headphone output jack on your phone . Independent 3 channel volume plus main volume . You add a mic and sing along with your iPhone . The exception being if you have an iPhone seven and there is no headphone jack. This speaker does not have Bluetooth connectivity . I 'm happy with both sound clarity and projection . |
Question: | Can you connect your iphone into this for youtube karaoke |
Answer: | They both sound the same quality to me but I think the Behringer has a little more bass to it. |
Question: | I have been using a behringer 205d. anybody heard these side by side against one? if so, how do they compare |
Answer: | The Behringers have their own power. Best to back off the speakers and drive with the Yamaha's. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the frequency response |
Answer: | 53–50,000 Hz frequency response that is the specs from the Sony product page |
Question: | How is the bass to use without subwoofer |
Answer: | The SSCS5 has respectable bass response for a bookshelf, down to 50 Hz or so, but I would highly recommend you pair with a decent subwoofer for best results. I use the SSCS5 in a 2.1 setup in our master bedroom and they absolutely slay for movies and music! The imaging and soundstage is spectacular. Really no need for a full surround setup if space is limited or you don’t want to monkey around with wiring rear speakers. However, pairing these with a good subwoofer makes a world of difference in the impact you will experience for movies. If you listen to a lot of electronic music, a good sub is a must. |
Question: | What are the size(diameter) of tweeters / midranges / subwoofers ? And do these have passive crossovers inside |
Answer: | Dear Kim,There is a passive crossover in the speaker. 3/4" Super tweeter, 1" Tweeter, and 5 1/4" Woofer.Eric C |
Question: | This price is for a pair or are sold individually |
Answer: | Is this a pair of speakers or just one? |

The Rockville RPG8 powered PA speaker is simply amazing in terms of sound quality, and raw power! This speaker has an incredible 400 watts of peak power and will deliver a massive amount of bass, mids, and highs. The ultra-efficient design is amazing!
This speaker is the result of a year of research and development. We tested samples of 5 top selling powered speakers and the RPG series out-performed them all. These go louder and have punchier bass. What we found to be interesting was that some of the other speakers we tested against these were rated by their manufacturers at 1,000 watts or more, but they only went around half as loud as these.
The 8" woofer built into this speaker has a 2" aluminum voice coil which provides an extremely loud, deep, punchy bass response. Couple that with our state-of-the-art 1.35'' Japanese made pure titanium-diaphragm compression driver and the ultra-wide dispersion, 40° large-format horizontal wave guide horn and you get beautiful full range concert-quality sound. The linear class A/B amplifier built into these speakers is efficient and provides clean power to the speaker. Some of the competing speakers use cheap amps in their speakers. We really went out of our way to make sure the amp built into these speakers gives you enough power so you can really feel and taste the music. The amplifier also has a clipping LED and a limiter to ensure long life to the speaker. The built in 2 band EQ will allow you to fine-tune and tweak the sound to your liking.
The RPG8 has a versatile trapezoidal enclosure design which allows you to use it as a PA speaker. It is also flyable and stand mountable giving you many options on how you can utilize these speakers.
We also included all the inputs and outputs you would need along with great controls. These have XLR and 1/4" ultra-low noise Mic / Line inputs with volume control as well as line RCA and XLR inputs with separate Gain adjustments.
- Rockville RPG8 8" Active/Powered 400 Watts DJ PA Speaker System. 100-Watt RMS / 200 Watts Program Power / 400 Watts Peak. High power long-throw 8'' woofer with 2" aluminum voice coil provides incredibly deep bass and acoustic power. Frequency Response: 50Hz-20KHz. Maximum SPL @1w/1m: 119dB peak / 116dB continuous.
- High-power 2-way pro sound reinforcement speaker system for live sound and playback applications. Compact and light weight system delivers distortion free sound even at extreme SPL. Linear Class AB amplifier technology: high power, transparent sonic performance. Internal switch-mode power supply for low distortion audio with superior transient response.
- Built-in bass and treble equalization processor for ultimate system control and speaker protection. State-of-the-art 1.35'' Japanese made pure titanium-diaphragm compression driver for crystal clear high-frequency reproduction. Ultra-wide dispersion, 40° large-format horizontal wave guide horn molded directly into cabinet.
- Ultra-low noise Mic / Line input via XLR & 1/4-inch stereo jacks with volume control. Line RCA and XLR input with separate Gain adjustment. Additional balanced line output via XLR for linking of additional speaker systems. Versatile trapezoidal enclosure design allows different positioning. Flyable and stand mounting with 35-mm pole socket.
- High-quality components and exceptionally rugged high impact ABS construction. Amplifier clip limit LED indicator & power LED cabinet rear. Front display power meter Blue LED. Dimensions : 11.57" X 8.98" X 16.23".
User questions & answers
Question: | I have bought 2 RHB70 speakers crazy about the sound especially the bass, does this speaker’s bass compare to that |
Answer: | I don't understand the question but this Rockwell will deliver if you set the equalizer. Your bass and treble and mid ranges have to be set and you will see the difference. I hope this helps. |
Question: | What kind of chord do I need to plus this into a mixer? Also would this work with a 300 watt mixer |
Answer: | I use a 1/4" jack - the unit is simple to use - any type of mixer will work - I have a Tascam MK3 8 input deck for a mixer - it works fine - what I really like is using a stereo CD player for monitor speakers - light easy to carry lots of sound |
Question: | What is the best way (sound quality) to connect a passive mixer to this speaker? 1/4 inch plug or RCA |
Answer: | Speaker has to sets of inputs. XLR & 1/4 jack Mic level and XLR & RCA Line Level. You can use the 1/4 in Mic level for a line input by turning down the level control. This method allows either channel to function OK. But if you have a stereo mix it would be best to use the paired RCA jacks to amplifie both right and left channels. |
Question: | Can I connect my microphone to it using a cord |
Answer: | Yes...... If your mic has an XLR cable, this will work. If your mic is a cheaper style with a 1/4" male, that will also work..... You are better off buying a small mixer and going mic to mixer to RPG8. Buy a mixer with reverb. |

Question: | Can I connect wireless mics |
Answer: | The LED's for the white unit are white. |
Question: | If I receive this item and it does not work as discribed is it eligible for return |
Answer: | No, mine's pretty steady. Of course, weight can vary day to day by 2-3 pound easily (if you weigh what I do around 200 lbs). Depending on food intake and such. The scale should be on a flat, hard surface, not carpeting or uneven tile. Also you can try to calibrate the scale by stepping on and then off quickly. |
Question: | Can I play music and use a wireless mic at the same time |
Answer: | Yes. In fact, you don't even need a fitbit. My wife has a apple watch but she uses the fitbit scale and it syncs to the fitbit app on her phone. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it come with the car power cable like the 300 comes with |
Answer: | Watts are really insignificant with speakers (its an outdated way of measuring how loud speakers are). You really want SPL and frequency range on a speaker. Max SPL on this is 134, which is pretty good. Frequency Range (-10 dB) 31Hz –150Hz Frequency Response (-3 dB) 42.5Hz – 150Hz . These are loud and get nice lows. |
Question: | Does it have a subwoofer in it? How is the bass |
Answer: | Yes, they have an output that will carry line level signal to the next speaker. |
Question: | how long is the battery life played at full volume |
Answer: | There's no way you are putting this speaker into a car. And no, it does not accept the Bluetooth signal without a cable. |
Question: | Can you pair it with the partybox |
Answer: | You can buy any of the replacement blades through Amazon |

Answer: | It use it to teach outdoor yoga classes. I plug it into a tailgate boom box and its worked perfectly for 2 years now. |
Question: | Would this work with vixia hf g |
Answer: | It will work if the Vixia HF g50 has a standard headphone input jack like a boom box. The way this works is it comes with a receiver that plugs into your stereo headphone jack and transmits to the headset. It has an adaptor for a larger input also. A Brief History of Galaxy Audio
Galaxy Audio began in 1977 with Superior Sound, operated by Brock Jabara and his partner Jim Pearce. They both had eight years of concert sound experience, and their rental products flanked the stages of concert halls and arenas all over the country, providing sound for Aretha Franklin, The Bee Gees, Janis Joplin, James Brown and countless others.
Brock and Jim soon developed the Hot Spot Personal Monitor. It was immediately a hit among musicians who used them. It was obvious that with some refinement, the new products could fill a long-standing void in the marketplace. Superior Sound began to metamorphose from speaker rental company to speaker manufacturing company. Galaxy Audio was born.
Galaxy Audio began enhancing the performance and quality of their product and expanded to include many new products and categories. We have experienced growth in areas we never expected, and our goal remains to provide great products and service for many years to come.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can the headset work with either left or right ear (in other words I want it work on both |
Answer: | I don't think so.... BUT I have been successful wearing the headset around my neck... thus, either side. I have glasses and sometimes find both the headset and glasses a bit much. I LOVE the head set. As an elementary music teacher, with 36 years under my belt, my voice is beginning to "wear out" more easily... this is a great set up. |
Question: | On the headset - does the box part cover the ear? I wear hearing aids, so that would be a problem |
Answer: | No problem, I think yes, it won't hinder you. And this headset is head-mounted and hand-held. the wireless ear hook is removable.Thanks. |
Question: | Can the amplifier box hang in the back of the classroom while the speaker/headset are in the front of the room? How far will the pairing work |
Answer: | I don't know the exact distance for pairing but I doubt it. The amplifier is intended to be used while on the body of the person wearing the headset. The amplifier is not large...it fits in my pocket. It also comes the a belt clip and a lanyard. |

User questions & answers
Question: | what kind cable do I need to connect it to scarlet 2i |
Answer: | You need an XLR cable. I use Mogami XLR cables because they are some of the best. |
Question: | Does it need phantom |
Answer: | No it does not require phantom power. |
Question: | Is this usa made |
Answer: | RE20's are all USA made - still. |
Question: | Does this mic use a usb |
Answer: | Do *not* get a DAC for this or any mic. It won't work for you. A DAC *only* converts a digital source to analog. You need to convert analog to digital as well. This means you need an *audio interface*, such as the RME Babyface on PC, or an Apogee Duo on a Mac, or a UAD Apollo Twin on either one. The Audient iD4 is a good budget interface and uses their famous mic pre; some people swear by the Scarlett series and the SSL2+. Research those and not a DAC except for listening passively to other people's music with headphones and your phone, or on speakers through your stereo/HT system. |
