Aluminum Cone Woofers

In addition, because the unit does not have magnetic shielding, a larger than normal magnet could be used, allowing more sound information to be extracted from the source for more realistic sound staging.

Question:	Can i use 4 of these and the matching center with 2 psw505 for a decent HT? 14x14 room
Answer:	Definitely yes, I have a Polk RM6750 subwoofer and 2 of this speakers with the matching center and they sound clear as water. Besides you can always lower your subs volume if its too much. Also remember the power your amp have is important, I'm using a Sony STR-DE335 amplifier which sends 100 watts per channel at 6 ohms and nothing has gone wrong yet. So far I have played music, movies and the morning news and I'm always happy about the clarity and loudness on only a 3.1 system. My guess is yours is going to sound much better with the 5.2 you are building. Nice pick and good luck with your shopping.
Question:	Do these have a screw hole in the back for mounting on a speaker stand
Answer:	No. They come with a mount that slides into a dove tail slot on the back of the speaker. The mount has limited movement. No 90 degree angles.
Question:	can these speakers work with the audio-techica at-lp60 usb turntable
Answer:	Answering late...for others needing help - you need active speakers to connect directly to the turntable otherwise you will need to connect the turntable & these speakers to an amplifier.
Question:	can you use a split copper speaker wire to connect from an old school amplifier to the speakers
Answer:	That's the way they were designed to be hooked up, so yes. Heck, I use old lamp cord and they work as well as they can for their size.

Question:	Will these stands work with polk rm85 series speakers? rm85 series speakers have a screw hole at the bottom of the speaker
Answer:	The total weight of 5 surround rm58's is 15.4 pounds. I believe these stands will work fine. There are several ways to attach speakers to these stands. I had lots of hardware leftover.

Answer:	The base is about 10 inches in diameter and metal along with the the mounting shaft is also metal. I've got smaller Bose speakers they work fine. The 601 might fit and the weight might not be a factor but not sure

Answer:	The screw holes can pass M6 screws.
Question:	What are the dimensions of the rubber feet so that they can be replaced by carpet spikes
Answer:	No prblem replacing them. I am going to do the same thing. You will need the stability if your speakers are more than a couple of lbs a piece.

Answer:	It is a pair (2), they are great. I love mine.
Question:	Are you supposed to attach your speakers to the stands with screws
Answer:	You don't need to drill holes into your speakers as the speaker stands have adjustable clamps to lock the speakers in place. They also come with rubber pads that attach to the stand's speaker clamps. For extra security, you could replace the rubber pads with velcro strips.

Answer:	Each speaker = About 1 to 2 lbs Sub Woofer = About 10 lbs
Question:	Can these be connected by banana plugs? Sometimes there are little plastic caps at ends of posts but I don’t see anything removable on these
Answer:	These smaller speakers do not have banana plug connector receptacles. The binding posts are the spring loaded type for bare speaker wire.
Question:	Have pair of floor-standing speakers, can i use these speakers to make my system 7.1? do i need something different for the second set of rear speake
Answer:	Yes, that would work great. Use the satellites for side surrounds and rear. I would also consider replacing the center channel with a larger speaker down the road because there is not much in the mid range and lower. And you want the lower ranges coming from the center speaker and not the subwoofer for directionality.
Question:	How many watts can they take also what ohm are they

Answer:	The wireless connection from our sound bar to the receiver for the rear speakers, has been solid. We have experienced absolutely no gaps or dropped connections. I did have to raise the volume for the surround speakers (do this in the soundbar settings) to the max which is 6. We are amazed at the quality of the sound. Well pleased with the purchase.
Question:	How long are the cables or can I make my own
Answer:	The speaker wires are more like 10 feet long. Both of them. If you want to run one speaker on the other side of a room, you're gonna have to splice the speaker wire to make it longer.

Answer:	I would definitely agree. Monoprice sells a set of two of the speakers separately for use on their own as a 2 channel system or as an add on to this 5.1 system to make it 7.1. They even sell the subwoofer separately as well if you ever want to upgrade to a true 7.2 system. Then everything will be perfectly matched. Make sure to get the correct set of two Premium Monoprice speakers. Monoprice also sells a lower quality standard 5.1 surround sound system and a set of two extras of that type as well. If you have the correct set, they will exactly match the speakers in the Monoprice Premium 5.1 surround sound speaker set. I know this because I actually had what I thought was the correct one in my shopping cart only to find out it was the wrong set just before pulling the trigger. So it's an easy mistake to make even when you've done a bunch of research. I hope you enjoy your system. They are absolutely amazing speakers. My family is constantly amazed at how much information and nuance is embedded in soundtracks of our favorite movies and shows that we never heard with our previous home theater system. Question:	How do these speakers do for a stereo? Is there enough bass or does it require a sub woofer? Looking for speakers for a dance studio
Answer:	Hi Tara,These are very nice speakers, but because of the size/design, these are more of a Satellite speaker with decent midbass and highs. They image nicely- great for stereo reproduction, however they don't produce any really low frequencies. For a dance studio, you will definitely need a powered sub with these speakers. How large/power level for the powered sub depends on 3 things: size of room, loudness required, and room acoustics.
Question:	can they be used as L/R front speaker in 7.1 with TL2 being satellite
Answer:	Ideally all front speakers, Left, Center, Right should be the same for optimal performance. Using the OWM3 as left/right main would work, and probably sound OK. I disagree with a previous comment on deficient bass response, as the very low frequencies would be handled by the sub/LFE channel with a powered sub. I would select "small speakers" on your 7.1 reciever for the front speakers when setting up your system- this will send all lower frequencies(>120hz) to the sub channel.
