Answer:	There is no indication that it's fire-proof so I can't say for sure. However, the fact that other Mesa safes indicate fire protection leads me to believe this one is not rated for long exposure to heat or flames. Unfortunately, we had two and they were both stolen within months. It was bolted down but they managed to break it free from our wood floors. However, the police had to blow it up in order to open it the first time and the thieves were never able to open it. So I imagine it's fairly fire-proof and your stuff is super safe inside. So long as it's bolted securely into something very solid, like concrete, it's nice an heavy and does the job. It just might not stand up to a house fire. You could always call Mesa at (714) 202-8000 to confirm.

Answer:	I only use the optical cable. Make sure the TV optical input is open so the plug seats all the way flush with the input port. I don't use any red/yellow cables.

Question:	What in your opinion is the best power setting for normal use, "on" or "auto" for this unit
Answer:	I would say depends if you use the item everyday/constantly as your sound for your surround. Or if you use surround/theater occasionally. If the latter I would use `on/off` , if you use it often or primarily the auto would be the way to go in my opinion. Plus is the sub easy to get to? Auto is great if its behind furniture or out of reach,etc.

Answer:	Just to clarify something a previous reviewer stated: "Note: If you are using a Sub out/LFE connection from your receiver turn the Low Pass all the way up. " This does not apply to receivers with which you can specify the low-pass cutover frequency. For example, my modest Onkyo receiver has cutover settings of 80/100/120 HZ for the LFE/Sub output. If you have this option, you should consult your main speaker's manual for suggested low-pass settings or simply tune them by ear. For my setup, 120 HZ was both the recommended and best-sounding cutover frequency. 160 HZ was a little muddy :)

Answer:	Like John, I too have a Vizio 2.0 sound bar and this pairs very well. I have a small theater room (10 x 20) and this one 10" fills the room. This sub is the best bang for the buck you can get.
Question:	Do I need a Y-adpater? A sound tech told me one sub wire would do the trick and just plug it into the L and ignore the R. Is this true
Answer:	Initially, used a one wire connection. Sounded OK, but .... Got a "Y" connector, attached at the rear of the amp, ran L & R wires to the PSW10: sounds amazing now and very adjustable. Need to get the PSW12 to get a one wire connection. Am very satisfied with this sub and would recommend it. Used in a 12' X 20' room, front/back/center and now the sub. Tom

The Edifier R1280T comes with built-in tone control at the side of the active speaker. Depending on the preference, you can make micro adjustments of treble and bass from -6 to +6 db. Digital volume control is automatically set to a comfortable level every time the speakers are powered on.

Dual RCA Input

R1280T powered bookshelf speakers lets you connect to multiple audio devices using the dual RCA inputs. By looking at the back panel you can easily tell one of these is a passive speaker and one is an active speaker. The active speaker has two inputs located on the back. These inputs are perfect for RCA to RCA or RCA to AUX connections. Connect them to a PC, laptop, tablet, phone or record player. The speakers are connected to each other via regular speaker wire. The variety of cables included ensures our customer enjoy their music from most devices right out of the box.
