Answer:	The speakers in the product description say they are 2 watts, which are pretty weak. Probably these are speakers that function at 4 ohms impedance to get a decent sound. As long as you use speakers with the same impedance, you could try different speakers. Look on the back of the speaker cabinet. A good speaker will list the impedance as 4, 8, or sometimes 16 ohms (the little upside-down "U" symbol). The lower the ohms (resistance-impedance) the less power it takes to drive the speakers. If the resistance is too high, you have to turn the power (volume) up to compensate, and in low-price systems like this one, the amplifier does not have much power, and if you crank it all they way up you will get distortion. But you can find many decent 4-ohm speakers on amazon, ebay -- even thrift stores.

Answer:	The headphone jack is connected through a voltage divider to the output of the power amp and its impedance is about 450 ohms. This guarantees that HD650 will have a bump in the vicinity of 100 Hz, the headphones’ resonance frequency, which will be hard to correct with the amplifier’s bass control. For headphones, I have a separate DAC/Amp pair (Topping D30 and JDS Atom).
Question:	Does the Yamaha A-S501 have a pre-amp out? If not, can one of its two recorder-outputs be used in lieu of a pre-amp out
Answer:	Any output from that amp except for the speaker outputs are pre-amp by nature, so you can do pre-amp processing as you normally would—source -> effect... effect2...-> amp. Once it reaches the amp you have no more control over the gain. Even the most basic mixing board could do what you are trying to do if you don’t mind that route.
Question:	anyway to hook up an EQ to this amp
Answer:	YES you can hook up a EQ to this amp. If you have a cd player take the analog out from the player to the input of the EQ.Then take the analog out from the EQ to a analog input on the amp. In front of this amp and on the remote there is a PURE DIRECT button, push this and you will see a yellow light come on. This will turn off the bass and treble controls on the amp, then you can adjust the EQ to what bass and mid and treble for you listening room.
Question:	Why usually a stereo amplifier costs more than a stereo receiver with much more options and similar spec
Answer:	Right now, Amazon has the RS500 for about $200 less than the AS501. Given the similar model designations, you might think the "RS" designator is the receiver version of this integrated. However, dig into the specs, and you'll see it's not the case. This unit has higher RMS power (85 W vs 75W), lower distortion (0.019 vs 0.04), and specs like peak power, SNR, and freq response are not provided for the receiver (presumably because they're not worth noting). You also need to look at how power is calculated. Manufacturers are notorious for cheating AV receiver specs by reporting power over very narrow bandwidths (sometimes just a single freq!) whereas the power for this integrated unit is over the entire usable bandwidth. So, in short, the specs are not identical.

Answer:	Nope. There's no logic to read or play the files from the flash drive directly. A computer or tablet or phone is needed to read and play the files, either digitally through the usb port, or analog through the Micca's RCA plug inputs. To the computer, the Micca looks like a sound card. Hope this helps. For what it is, though, the Micca is very high sound and build quality for the price.

Answer:	Yes. They're very similar to MB42xs, which I have, as well as an AD250. The RB42s are only 2 dB less sensitive than the MB42xs, 83 vs 85 dB. 2 dB is barely, noticeable if at all. I also have a Topping TP60 and the AD250 easily matches its output. The AD250 is just beautiful matched to the MB42xs and Micca's 10" sub. Everything I've read seems to say that the RBs are a bit nicer, with a bit more bass reach, bit I've got the sub for that. I've been looking for quality and value in my sound systems since my first Heath AR-1500a with Larger Advents in 1974 just after college. I'm having more fun listening to music with this Micca system than I've had in years. Hope this helps!

Answer:	it depends on how much sound you are looking to get. if you wish to power up with only rca connectors, then yes, you will need another amp to get sound. this unit does have a main output for speakers but they are only for bare threads. as far as sound goes, it will do ok in a smaller room but don't expect to be blown away.

Question:	Hi, is it possible to use it with powered speakers
Answer:	One configuration could be to drive a pair of speakers such as the front channel. I have used a power amp to drive a second pair of front speakers, completely independent of the existing pair; if you do this, be ready to have the equalizer on your lap, every 1db adjustment can throw off the entire audio sound-stage although, it is fun to establish working settings, it is just time consuming.
Question:	The manual says it cannot work with a subwoofer yet ca rep is saying the opposite here. my martin logan 700 sounds bad. can you comfirm

Answer:	Hello, This is a great 2-channel amplifier but it does not have a line out for a sub-Woofer. I have a lower cost sub-woofer that works with the Cambridge but this is only because mine has input terminals for both Channel outputs from the Cambridge and has terminals on the sub-woofer to connect to my two speakers. However this is not the preferred method of wiring and most sub-woofers like your Logan 700 do not have this terminal arrangement. So I do not understand how the representative can say that your Sub-Woofer will work. I would ask for more specifics as to how it should be set up. However your best option is an amplifier having a dedicated line out for a sub-woofer.

Answer:	It should. Likely the unit you have is defective. I had the same unit installed and it gave up the ghost in less than a year. I did have it installed outside undercover so I felt like it should have made it longer. I replaced it with a different version that comes with a remote to switch the input. Answer:	It would work. I’m using 8 ohms right now and I tried 4ohms also and it worked.
Question:	Does it have a connection for a powered subwoofer
Answer:	Most subwoofers have speaker level connectors. You connect all four speaker wires out from the amp into the sub and then there are four connectors to go out to the speakers from the sub. Then you can set the pass through levels on the subwoofer for the optimum sound you want. The sub handles the low tones and passes the higher tones on to your speakers. It works great. Plenty of tutorials on youtube and such.
