Answer:	I’ve never had any line noise or popping using optical. That is via a TV not computer but can’t imagine it would be different. The only popping I’ve ever had was if the power was pulled from the unit and then plugged back in while the volume was up but you shouldn’t ever need to unplug it, it doesn’t run hot or draw power when the switch is off.

Answer:	Don't know the output impedance, I believe they were line outs so they will not drive speakers. The headphone jack will drive headphones. That being said, it did not work with the optical output from my TV. It could have been my TV at fault. Did not have the opportunity to trouble-shoot the system so I sent it back
