Answer:	The 6 gbps is a theoretical top speed for Docsis 3.1. You are correct that this lan port only provides 1 gbps. This modem is currently useful for people with higher than 300 mbps internet connections via cable internet (however, it does work perfectly with slower internet connections as well). One great example is Xfinity's gigabit internet, which provides a download speed of 1 gbps, and this modem is perfect for that.

Answer:	You really should research what will work in your application before buying it. Almost all of these drives have the same width. Just measure the height. FYI, 12.7mm equals ~1/2 inch. So if it has a standard DVD SATA connector and correct height then it will work.

It is possible to let your family members set-up their own user ID, password and dedicated folders which only your family member will have access to etc. I found it very annoying that as administrator of the home cloud, you WILL NOT have any control o what they are storing (or) access to any of those files. May be the WD designed the product that way that individuals have complete data security to their own areas. I am still learning. Good Luck

Answer:	Thunderbolt and USB 3.1 are two different standards but use same connector (TB3 and USB 3.1). Thunderbolt fully supports USB 3.1 so I guess with a right cable you may be able to connect this drive to TB3 but not with a TB3 to TB3 cable. These cables have micro controllers inside cable connectors so it is no longer just a wire. Basically the enclosure does not support Thunderbolt hence the message from manufacturer. If your computer has a TB3 port, you can use type c to type c usb cable to connect.
