There are also very tiny feet. There are tiny buttons on the back which conceivably could increase the depth beyond four inches. All of this is really nit-picking. 4 x 4 x 4 is the realistic answer.

Answer:	The magnet might be a problem maneuvering in a tight magnetic area requiring precise navigation. However it hasn't presented any problems for me yet. First off, the magnet isn't so strong that it's been a factor and secondly, with the jaws extended or partially extended, the magnet is behind them so that might help in positioning it. Sorry I can't give you a more definitive answer but I don't know your situation. I guess if it's a complete failure you could return it, but so far it's accomplished what I needed it to do.
