Answer:	The cable is fixed to the center of one end of the xl stinger with multiple set screws. It is very well built.

Answer:	I'd imagine that you could remove the coating but I couldn't say with certainty whether the manufacturer intended for the consumer to do that or not. Personally, I am keeping the covering on mine because it still has quite an impact on a person if they are struck with it. Also, in a practical sense, I believe that the coating provides a slight bit of security from liability (either for the company or consumer) if used in order to defend one's self. The removal of the plastic MIGHT sway the item from being viewed like a defensive tool and more classified towards an "aggressive" weapon. The spillover for simply defending yourself in our country is a bit...convoluted...at times. That's all circumstantial depending on where you live and the situational circumstances that caused you to use the whip in the first place. Hope I kind of answered your question. Be safe out there.

Answer:	I keep mine in my car. Haven't worn it on my person. The Stinger original whip, 8mm cord i believe, which I also have, is lighter, more flexible, and has a rubber tip over the end of the cord, so can more easily be folded for wearing/concealing and comfort. However, the Gatekeeper Xj has a beefier grip/pommel, and quite a bit more striking force. The standard whip has skin laceration ability, the Gatekeeper has bone effect capability. The difference in force is quite substantial. Depends on what level of impact capability you are looking for. Get both if you can, as they are well worth the price, and I have no quarrel with either one.

Answer:	My daughter is 10 and I ordered her a large. They were too big in the waist and too long in the length. That being said, she is of average weight, but above average in height so I was surprised they didn’t fit in the length. We did not order another pair, but if I had I would need to order a smaller size.
