Time Set-Up

1. Press & hold (1 - TIME) to enter the time set-up mode.

2. Press (2 - HOUR) to set the hour and (3 - MIN) to set the minute. (Press & hold to adjust faster)

3. When finished, press (1 - TIME) to confirm and exit from time set-up mode.

*The default time is set at 12:00AM*

Alarm Set-Up

1. Press & hold (5 - AL 1) to enter the alarm set-up mode; the display will start blinking.

2. Once in alarm set-up mode, press (2 - HOUR) to set the hour and (3 - MIN) to set the minute. (Press & hold to adjust faster). Press (5 - AL 1) to confirm and proceed to your Alarm Sound Source setting.

3. Once in Alarm Sound Source setting, press (2 - HOUR) or (3 - MIN) to select either the BUZZER or RADIO as your desired alarm sound. Press (5 - AL 1) to confirm.

4. Once the alarm setting is complete, the alarm will be ready with the corresponding alarm indicator on.

Sleep Timer Set-Up

1. To activate the sleep timer function, press (7 - RADIO/AL OFF) to turn on the radio.

2. Press (4 - SLEEP/DIMMER/SNOOZE) as needed to cycle to the desired time limit (10 min intervals).

3. After your selection, wait 3 seconds to allow the sleep timer function to set.

4. When set-up is complete, the radio will shut off automatically depending on your selected timer setting.

5. To turn off the sleep timer function, press (4 - SLEEP/DIMMER/SNOOZE) until 00 is displayed. The timer will then set to "OFF".

FM Radio Set-Up

1. Unravel and extend the antenna to improve the FM radio signal reception.

2. Press (7 - RADIO/AL OFF) to turn the radio on.

3. To adjust the radio frequency, press (2 - TUN-) and (3 - TUN+) respectively.

4. Press & hold (2 - TUN-) or (3 - TUN+) to automatically tune to the next available FM station.

This accounts for the facts that the tuning wheel and band switch project slightly out of the right side, and the snooze bar and other switches extend slightly above the top. There are also very tiny feet. There are tiny buttons on the back which conceivably could increase the depth beyond four inches. All of this is really nit-picking. 4 x 4 x 4 is the realistic answer.

Answer:	I downloaded the JBL Connect app yesterday and walked through the tutorial. For JBL Connector to work you need to press the Connect button on each speaker to pair them. There is no Connect button on the JBL Horizon. I would guess the answer to your question is no. Also I unfortunately don't have another JBL Connect product that could pair so I can't be certain.

Answer:	The instructions say to snooze the alarm with the snooze button and shut off the alarm with the smaller button behind the snooze button. When I set the alarm to go off with the radio , I could snooze the alarm but I couldn't shut off the alarm as they've instructed. I had to return it. Everything else worked fine except for shutting off the alarm when it was set to the radio.

Answer:	It's very adjustable and can be made very dim, but you can't turn it off. There is an adjustment screw on the bottom that's easy to access. However, if the backlight is dim, it becomes very difficult to read the clock, particularly at night.

Answer:	Yes, iit does work. It has digital tuning so you stay on the station. I know what you mean with the other "dial" tuning radios, waking up to static or no sound at all. I've never had a problem with tuning.
Question:	Can the alarm time be turned back, or only forward? That is, to change from 8:00am to 7:45am, do you have to push the button once for hour and 45 times for minutes
Answer:	Hours and minutes are set separately. If you are in the hour formatting phase, you cannot change the minutes. They must be set separately, using the same method/formats. To set TIME, press alarm button, press time set till you hear a beep, press tuning up or down to set the hour, THEN PRESS TIME SET AGAIN to set the minutes, and the minute digit will flash. Follow the same direction to set the minutes. Continue the same steps to select weekday/weekend alarms. You continue this process, starting with TIME SET, to select frequencies, bands, and type of alarm (radio/buzzer). When you have finished these settings, within 30 seconds all settings will completed automatically While you are pressing the button t select date and time, the increment comes in hours and minute intervals only.You should have a users manual with this information (page 7). If you don't have a manual, try calling Sangean (800-426-6027).

Answer:	It does not. It has a permanent energy storage device (assuming it is a SuperCap or something like that) that provides power for 10 minutes to keep time through brownouts. All settings other than the current time are stored in flash memory so they are permanently retained (alarm times, radio memory, etc.). The lack of a long-term battery may be a disadvantage for some people. For me, it seems like in my locale all we have are brownouts or very long outages, so the back-up batteries in most clocks aren't that useful to me, and you need to replace them every now and then. None of the clocks we have with batteries will actually alarm when the power is out, they just keep time. The power needs to come back on before the set time to get the alarm, which is seldom the case in a long outage.

Answer:	I have not used the alarm. It was not set when I received the radio. But I imagine the booklet that came with it would say.

Answer:	I don't know for sure. There is a place for batteries which would kick in during a power outage.

Answer:	No, It is not auto-adjust for daylight.

Answer:	NO!! I just ordered this product, and while the settings for the alarm and the time will be retained during a power outage with batteries installed, the ALARM WILL NOT GO OFF (either alarm or radio) unless there is AC power. So if the power is out when your alarm is supposed to go off, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. I find this to be a ridiculous design and do not recommend it for anyone to use.

Answer:	It plugs in the wall so that it can be lit up and seen at night. Batteries are recommended for backup in case you lose power to hold the time.
Question:	How do I get the NAP function to turn off? I press the Power (standby) button and it displays NAP off, but the display then still shows NAP
Answer:	Yes, however the screen will only stay lit all the time if you use the a/c cord. With batteries only, you have to press a button for it to light up and that's only for a few seconds. Battery power is not enough to power this type of color screen all the time.
Question:	how do I fix the fm antenna
Answer:	The alarm beeps and gets louder and faster until you press the button to turn off. It is not wake the dead loud, but loud enough to wake the average person. It is not atomic so will not automatically set.
