Answer:	I don;t know how to spell the important word here but it is my understanding that they are made with Titanium rather than lead. They are much sturdier than the Riedell glasses we have had but look much the same. They will break but not at the slightest thing. I had broken the others just drying them. With these my husband had been putting them up on glass shelves and hit the shelf - no breakage. If dropped on a haard floor they will break but probably not on carpet. We love them.

Question:	Has anyone compared the oppo pm-3 to these
Answer:	I personally haven't but from what I understand the PM3 have a very different sound signature. The PM3 is lighter, has a planar magnetic driver, and is ultimately better build for portable usage. MH-40 are heavier, use a dynamic driver, and are build more so for home use while having superior build qaulity overall. One thing about headphones people should always consider is two headphones you may be considering, more often than not sound very different even at the same price. Have different Pro's and cons. The wirecutter, recommends the PM3 over these headphones but I personally prefer these due to the sound signature being to my liking. If you cant find a way to listen to them both then I recommend considering their use. If you want high portability headphones the PM-3 are what I'd recommend. If you're probably sitting at and office or at home listening to tunes MH-40 all the way.
Question:	I have NAD Viso HP50's, Sennheiser Momentums and Beyer DT 1350's. Can anyone tell me why I would spend $400 for these cans
Answer:	I can't comment on the Beyers but these M & D's are far superior to either set of Sennheisers I have owned. The highs are much sharper and the midrange has a lush richness that my Senns lacked. I even was amazed plugging them in on a transcontinental flight to find out what difference makers they are even when paired with the worst available sound system. One last thing...I was asked to transcribe some reel to reel interviews and I just could not filter out enough background to hear some of the dialogue. With the M&Ds I was able to block out significant chunks of static which enabled me to never have to rewind again.

Answer:	They are semi open back so they leak quite a bit of sound. I’ve had coworkers mention in the past that they thought I wasn’t wearing headphones, only to realize I was.

Answer:	First off the word is Bass not Base. Most importantly if you like Beats or anything close to them then you're looking at the wrong headphones with the MH40 and the like. Beats are excellent for what they are designed to do for the people who simply want to feel the Bass and Beats gives you this. The MH40 however and most high end reference cans are for people who enthusiastically appreciate Music as it was intended to be from the Recording Studio, these same people cringe when anything is played from a non Lossless source. They can also distinguish a MP3 file from a Lossless file and would rather listen to a CD then any radio station. The bottom line is simple Buy what suits you, if you want to actually hear and appreciate a quality recording then go Reference, but if Beats does the job there isn't much competition when it comes to besting their Bass.
