Answer:	Good Compass but not great Hold down on one of the buttons and the watch face becomes a compass. It shows the degrees (0-360) and the general direction (SE for example). You would not use this watch to plot a course on a map. For that, you can buy a compass for less than $20 that lie flat on a map, can be adjusted for a magnetic correction, they have lines, etc.

Answer:	The short answer is YES. I use a very short flash drive with a standard USB connector on it. The one I use is a 1 Gb drive, and sticks out of the radio about 1/4 inch when inserted, so I can leave it in all the time. To use it, I recommend you pay close attention to the order in which audio files appear on your flash drive. When you push the "M" button on the radio, it seems to start with the first audio file on the flash drive. Then each time you press the fast forward button (>>|) it goes to the next file on the drive. The display shows just the file number, not the name of the file. Once you push the M button it starts playing file #1. You can then use the number buttons to go to a different file NUMBER. So, it's a good idea to print out a copy of the contents of your flash drive so you have some idea what number a specific song or audio file might be. Note also that the radio seems to remember what file you were playing when you shut it off, and it will resume playing that file the next time you press the M button.
